Don't I wish that I lived nearer. Will put it on my list for a visit when we travel that way.
Littlenellie your post got my mouth watering. I love going anywhere that I can find genuinely good quality and tasty local food. It is such a shame that a large majority never appreciate the joy of food and are quite happy to buy the plastic variety

Good to see another IWP member on here! Haven't lived near this mill for 20 years I never knew it existed. So thank you Christine. Somewhere to take the grandchildren for a messy and fun experience.

glad jo and freda that you like the sound we now have it down as one of our favourite places, their sheep cheese is lovely they do one which is like a wenslydale and another that resembles feta cheese and would be nice with olives or in a greek salad, would love to meet you if you are visiting any timexx

Littlenellie mill is only open until the end of September and we've already got a Welsh holiday booked for the 17th. Will have to bookmark it for next year. Looks a good location.

We like Norfolk and visit when we can, but hadn't heard of Bircham - well, we have now, thanks Littlenellie, and will add it to our "places to visit". I love making (and eating) my own bread, this place sounds like my kind of heaven.

We live near a working windmill. It's fascinating to watch the grain becoming flour. They have a lovely cafe which uses the mill's flour and we also buy the flour to make our own bread.

Yes we saw that jo looks quite nice they also have a shepherds hut that they let out for the night looks like an old gypsy caravan..sounds fun if you decide to visit here perhaps we could have meet up smile

They've got a holiday cottage! smile (in the Norfolk one that is) (which sounds much better cos they make the bread for you)

I have done that in my back kitchen.

But I've no doubt it's different in Portugal. smile

Have just visited a windmill here in Norfolk..Bircham windmill which is still making flour and baking,it was a lovely experience to see and the tase ans smell of the bread was wonderful,we bought bread and pasties home with us,and sheeps cheese made there we watched the sheep being milked.
We had a cream tea there and the taste of the scones where out of this world with their home made jam..we got a complimentary return visit card and are going back for more supplies and another cream tea...sunshine
