Forgot to say he is autistic but doing really well. I wish he didn't have the label. It follows him everywhere !

That's lovely Nelliemoser It is a miracle how the little ones learn so quickly. In our case our joy was tinged with sadness as DGD was doing all these things but her twin was not and didn't engage at all. However, what has given me great joy over the week-end is his school report for the end of Year 1. It said he has had a brilliant year and exceeded all expectations with his reading being above average. Well done to his newly qualified teacher and his loving and warm TA grin

Watching 9mnth DGS over the last month or so suddenly understanding the idea of cooperative play. Learning about peekaboo and then covering his face himself when you say "wheres" xx gone?" Waving goodbye.

Laughing at his mummy when she put the big yellow plastic duck on her head and crawling over to try and put it back on. How does a baby with no language "get" that this is funny. Its just wonderful watching these developments.

DD does not spend a lot of time with a big yellow duck on her head. wink

'Nana, you're beautiful' said my 6-year old GS.
'No, I'm not darling, I'm old an wrinkly'
A long silence while he scrutinised my face and I wait for his verdict.
'Well, you are to me'

At my age, joy is waking up in the morning and finding I am still alive to enjoy this amazing planet and all the people in it. Good people far outweigh
the bad, a thing we often forget, I think.
Having something to look forward to is important, no matter how small.
Planting seeds so that you have the joy of watching them emerge through the soil. Entering a competition, - you just might win! Going for a walk and noticing how beautiful the sky is, and all the birds and flowers along the way.
The everyday small things are joyful if we put our optomistic glasses on and stop grumbling for five minutes.

Well done all GC.
My joy was walking along parts of the Anglesey coastal path, in places hemmed in by hedges full of wild roses whose delicate perfume filled the air.

smile soop for your card from the wee man.

We had an anxious couple of weeks waiting for DGD's appointment as the GP was concerned enough to ask for a fairly urgent appointment but it's all fine - phew! She has had an exciting few days as she had her first trip to the dentist today AND got a sticker. grin
