Or read this book, The Patient Paradox, by a GP, which discusses the fact that no-one has ever proved that all this "awareness raising" does any good at all. Interesting read. She is particularly persuasive on the subject of prostate cancer "screening" and how there is no evidence that it saves lives. (Because, in a nutshell, it leads to a lot of unnecessary surgery, some of which proves fatal)

My son grew a moustache last year for Movember but his wife wont "allow" him to this year. Instead they've got their daughter (10 months old) and dummy with moustache attached. Looks hideous!
