grannyactivist Tue 03-Dec-19 16:22:05

BBbevan - you only spotted that one of us was out of tune? You're too kind. blush

I know Baggs joined in, what about you Marmight, were you singing along too? There must be more of us who are still around.

BBbevan Tue 03-Dec-19 11:35:36

Loved it. The one out of tune, the fella, and everyone else . Great

Gonegirl Tue 03-Dec-19 09:43:15

Sorry. I had no idea it was for charity.

Gonegirl Tue 03-Dec-19 09:41:46

Wonder who the bloke was at HQ bellowing it out.

Gonegirl Tue 03-Dec-19 09:36:47

(I do remember it)

I think HQ thought they could make a packet out of it if it went well.

Nuff said.

Gonegirl Tue 03-Dec-19 09:34:10

Please no.

mcem Tue 03-Dec-19 08:36:14

Yes. Remember it well and took part.
Another attempt?

DanniRae Tue 03-Dec-19 08:23:10

Oh that was so lovely and made me cry! I love Carols and wish we could do it this year.
Can someone make it happen?

tanith Tue 03-Dec-19 08:19:45

I don’t remember this but how wonderful and a great idea.

Resurgam123 Tue 03-Dec-19 08:17:15

That was a long time ago. Before I was a real granny .
My first grandson is now 8 bless him.

cornergran Tue 03-Dec-19 07:43:12

It’s a lovely idea, better for me to keep quiet though grin.

Before I joined too, but how amazing to achieve that. Sad thoughts Maw. It was the hunt for Greatnan which first lead me to GN. So glad I found it.

MawB Tue 03-Dec-19 06:40:34

I wonder how many of those singing then are no longer alive now? Greatnan, Printmiss and others?
Or, at least no longer members of GN.
sad Christmas carols always get me that way sad

kittylester Tue 03-Dec-19 06:34:22

I remember it happening but didnt take part - be very thankful for small mercies. grin

Grandma2213 Tue 03-Dec-19 01:56:30

Before my time but I thought it was great and sang along with it. I'd love to do something like that but probably wouldn't be able to get the technology to work.

harrigran Tue 03-Dec-19 00:13:12

I remember it well.

GranE Tue 03-Dec-19 00:07:39

This was well before I joined GN, but listening to it now, I found it incredibly moving.

In December 2011 a group of women from across the country sat in their own homes and by some magic of technology they were joined together to create the first (and last) Gransnet 'choir' (think, not so much of Gareth Malone, as angry cats fighting). I was reminded of it recently and then just now, prompted by another thread, I remembered it was in aid of Scotty's Little Soldiers.

If you can bear it, listen to the end when you can hear how pleased we are with ourselves.

Who, besides me, remembers taking part?
