It has been my experience that most grans are in their 40's or 50's these days.....hardly old, so what's with the logo?

I am still 27 inside my head, but actually 70 - there, I've put it in black and white so I have to believe it. Mind you, when I look in the mirror first thing in the morning I sometimes see my granny whereas until last year it was my mother. Like my mother, I had my first at 30; second at 32; granny at 51 and now have five GCs from 3 to 19. I had a great time in my 20s, playing the field.

Erm, just come back to this thread to catch up - and noticed that in my earlier post I had inadvertently advanced my age by a year. I won't actually be 58 until September. I married at 16 shock, had my first child at 19, second at 22, third at 29, (divorce, re-married grin) had my fourth child at at 36 and fifth (and last!!) at 38. There are exactly 19 years between my oldest and youngest children. My mother is 82 and has 23 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

My username is out of date!
Last Thursday I sang to my daughter ' I've got the key of the door, never been 71 before'.....had a great day.

Hi Heather. Make yourself at home. smile

Rick is wasted on this programme. Used to see him at the National. Great actor who has given in for the filthy lucre!

jangly Mon 25-Jul-11 15:01:17

You can just click on any name so long as it is blue. That means they have put a profile on.

I haven't got a profile as I am quiet, shy and reserved.

WWOTN Mon 25-Jul-11 14:51:04

Whilst you are in info. mood; how do I get to search your profiles?

WWOTN Mon 25-Jul-11 14:49:51

Got it! So stupid! wanted to post HMM but missed out the brackets- how dumb is that? hmm

WWOTN Mon 25-Jul-11 14:48:55

WWOTN look down the bottom. Under Review post and Post. Right down. under the message box.

and then just do what it says. hmm

sylvia2036 Mon 25-Jul-11 14:25:16

WWOTN - for smileys just type smile and after you post your message you will see a smiley face (see the bottom of the page where it demonsrates what you need to do)

WWOTN Mon 25-Jul-11 13:51:33

I'm 71 going on 23. I plan not to die before I'm 93 when I shall be shot by a jealous wife! Became a Nana at 51. Wish I had more G/children[only 2 girls aged 17 and 191/2] but my daughter won't oblige.
[the name means "wicked witch of the North"-son-in-laws name for me.]
Wish I'd got the hang of adding smileys!

Gally Mon 25-Jul-11 12:04:11

grin Good on you Jangly!

jangly Mon 25-Jul-11 11:54:59

In a couple of months I will have done my three score years and ten (shoot!). But I am going to re-take my sixties.

Baggy Mon 25-Jul-11 09:11:09

Join the gang of GN logo-likers, else! There are a few of us about. smile

Faye Mon 25-Jul-11 09:03:48

My eldest daughter was born the day before my 21st birthday and she had her first baby at 32.
I think the logo looks like it is from the war years and I think the mumsnet logo looks like Charlie's Angels. I would like to see the Gransnet logo of a virtual bus with grans hanging on as it flies through the air. Thats how I imagine it! smile

ElseG Mon 25-Jul-11 08:35:04

It says it all when I can't remember whether I have answered this thread or not.

I am 61 had my first daughter when I was 23 and my eldest grandchild is now 12. I think I am missing something because the logo seems fine to me although some granddads may feel left out.

Gally Mon 25-Jul-11 08:27:27

I became a Mum at 27 and a Granny at 55. Most of my friends who are in their 60's are still not Grans so I consider myself lucky. I'm now 63 and in my head I am only about 45!! wink

helshea Mon 25-Jul-11 08:07:02

I'm 51, or maybe 52... I keep forgetting, but was born in late 1959? That's how much age matters to me wink
