NaNoWriMo

I still work a bit, but I have over 11,500 words written on a book I should finish for NaNoWriMo. All of the chapters are plotted and at least a few paragraphs have been written on each one. The "novel" is something of a biography of a fictitious character who is a composite of some real life people. Place names are neighbourhoods rather than actual cities and towns.

Sussiecb, a friend of mine is writing a novel at the moment and I will tell her about NaNoWriMo, it might be just what she needs to get stuck in and finish it. Funnily enough a book I've recently read by Elizabeth Haynes called 'Into the darkest Corner' was written when she was introduced to NaNoWriMo. It's a really fantastic book and it's doing very well on Amazon.

susiecb Editing or just chucking stuff away is probably the most important bit. Don't wait until November to start – get ahead now and good luck. Let us know how you get on.

Thank you for the messages. The idea is that you just write write write all through November and do your editing later. Many novelists get bogged down in the editing and it stops the creative flow I know I spend far more time editing than I do writing so am going to go for it - if I can ever get my husband to leave the study while i'm doing it!

susiecb Good for you! Will try to remember to keep you in the loop, but GN's so addictive you're probably better off just getting your head down and catching up when you've finished writing.
