MmeL - I saw your post on there! grin

Will have a good read of it, and the blog.

MmeLindt Thu 08-Dec-11 09:01:11

Look forward to seeing you all on MN. grin

That is what we are trying to do, to make people look beyond the Tory propaganda. If you would like to have a little rant on the blog, and explain your point of view, you can help to do that.

We are getting almost 1500 hits a day on the blog, so it is being read and passed on. It is important that it is not seen as white, middle aged mums from Mumsnet whinging but true picture of what is going on in UK at present.

I'm sure my (Conservative) MP is sick to death of hearing from my husband and me, but we keep on writing, petitioning etc. We joined the anti-cuts rally in March and were out on strike last week. We do all we can to put pressure on the government over particular matters and will continue doing so, but I believe they really don't care. The media propaganda machine keeps churning out rubbish and I'm afraid all too many people don't look behind the headlines and find out for themselves what a truer picture looks like. I've had a look at the Frother's blog and will keep an eye on what's happening there.

The GNHQ police do not let us link from MN to here. They think we'll fight.

We are a group of Mumsnetters who were recently chatting about the cuts and how they were affecting not just our own lives, but changing the things that make Britain Great.

NHS
Sure Start
Benefits system as a rescue net for the needy
Student loans
Child benefit

We are aware that there have to be cuts, we know that we are in a recession but are concerned that the cuts are aimed at women, children, those with disabilities, and the poor.

We have a blog here and are on Twitter and Facebook.

The demographic of our group (mainly mums between 20 and 50ish) means that we have plenty to write about on the cuts, but we could do with some guest bloggers who could write about how the cuts are affecting the older generation.

Is there anyone who would be interested in this?
