As I can't go and have afternoon tea with my D Sister today because of the snow, how about a virtual tea party? Pretty china cups, saucers and plates and flowery teapots will be the order of the day. Unfortunately I've only got 6 in my Royal Worcester tea set. I have a bone chine teapot ,white with violets. Can anyone supply some more crockery? What shall we have to eat? I have a cucumber in the fridge.

Well it's been nice, but we have to go, Lizzie! You must come to us next time. Are we ready girls? No, it's no problem going out of the window, Liz - save us traipsing through all those corridors. Scarper, quick!!

Annobel Sun 05-Feb-12 17:06:15

I thought I heard a siren out there...and is that a flashing blue light? Oh, pleeeze, Your Maj, don't have us sent to the Tower. We're grans just like you are...

"we've been in enough trouble this weekend!" glassortwo!!! shock

Hunt Sun 05-Feb-12 16:59:41

Can anyone play that piano. Lets roll up the ''antique ''rug and have a bit of a dance.

Carol Sun 05-Feb-12 16:59:21

Hello glass we're probably getting to the stage where we've outstayed our welcome, but HRH has been quite a good sport. Don't slip in that puddle!! Would you like tea or champagne?

glassortwo Sun 05-Feb-12 16:57:35

Just got here in time, I think we have been enough trouble this weekend with out annoying HRH wink

Ariadne Sun 05-Feb-12 16:56:15

Tea? I don't want tea! This is a party, right? What's in that Tantalus thingy over there? I'll have a drop of that..

Carol Sun 05-Feb-12 16:56:11

Watch that dog - it's hoovering up Mamie's chelsea buns that she teleported over to us. No table manners and no housetraining - you need taking in hand, Lizzie!

Jacey Sun 05-Feb-12 16:51:48

OK ...I think I'll try some of Mamie's tea ...I'm going to find somewhere quite to sit...I can feel a headache coming on!!

Faye Sun 05-Feb-12 16:49:35

Mamie and Ariadne you took your time getting here, we are in trouble again and we just saw Phil lurking in the passageway. I think he was looking for that corgi but maybe he is wondering why there are so many gorgeous grans rolling around drunk having afternoon tea.

Butternut Sun 05-Feb-12 16:46:13

Corgi's should be taught to go to the lavatory..

Carol Sun 05-Feb-12 16:46:02

Err...Sandringham. WeI broke in, and then we blagged an invite when a few household staff and her madge spotted us, but she's taking it all in good part so far. Seems to have quite a sense of humour, but I'm not that impressed with the dogs' housetraing. Cup of tea?

Ariadne Sun 05-Feb-12 16:43:30

Halloooo! Bit late I know but here I am, here's my chocolate cake, oh yes, a large glass please, it's a bit cold out there. Nice place! Where are we? Just a top up, then.

We're where????

Carol Sun 05-Feb-12 16:40:05

Well I never....I don't believe it! That corgi has just pissed on the carpet - no wonder it's looking shabby!

Annobel Sun 05-Feb-12 16:38:55

P.....ed corgi. That's all we need!

Jacey Sun 05-Feb-12 16:38:45

Whatever it was Carol you'd better find some more ...the rest of the corgis have arrived!!

Carol Sun 05-Feb-12 16:36:30

I did put in a little splash of whatever was in that tantallus over there. You can't tell what it is when it's not in the bottle. Tasted ok to me.

Annobel Sun 05-Feb-12 16:35:57

What are you feeding that corgi on, Carol?

chocolatepudding Sun 05-Feb-12 16:35:52

I am so sorry to be late, the traffic on the A140 from Suffolk was dreadful. I was just sneaking in and this delightful couple started to explain the history of the house.....so I offered them a chocolate muffin each and they disappeared off to have tea in the drawing room. I bribed the surprised footman with a muffin too. Tea and crumpets - lovely!

Mamie Sun 05-Feb-12 16:35:04

Do you think I could teleport the Chelsea buns - I can't get out of the drive?

Butternut Sun 05-Feb-12 16:34:29

I think Queenie would love to join us, feet up with a crumpet and slice of boiling broonie and one of carol's sarnies. smile

No doubt carol's dog will hoover up all crumbs.............and queenie's, too.

Annobel Sun 05-Feb-12 16:34:19

Faye, it'll be off with your head if you don't button it right now!

jeni Sun 05-Feb-12 16:33:29

By the way, what has carol been making the tea with? Smells more like gin than water!

jeni Sun 05-Feb-12 16:31:48

Surely H M Gran not HRH?

Mamie Sun 05-Feb-12 16:31:42

I'm a bit late, but I have Wedgwood teaset, sugar lumps and tongs and a slop bowl. Cucumber sandwiches would be lovely, I have Yunnan brewing in the china pot and some homemade raspberry jelly for the scones.
DH is making some Chelsea buns, they will be ready soon.
