I've noticed that new names are popping up quite a lot recently, so wanted to say hello and welcome. Do come on here and introduce yourselves/say hello.
smile We're a friendly lot - honest!

grannyjules Warm welcome from Kintyre. Is it possible that the computer decided to play silly b's? When you wish to add a smiley face [or any other] you need to type smile in brackets - smile and so on. Then preview the message. If you're happy with it, go to post message. If all well with your computer, you'll soon get the hang of things. Have fun grin

Now then, thank you for the welcome.
I've just written a reply, went to look for a smiley face and my msg dissapeared! So you might not be hearing too much from me just yet, any idea what went wrong, or is it just me?

Fascinating as lurking can be, it's much more fun to take the plunge and get right into the strange but alluring melée that is Gransnet. smile

Hi Numberplease, I'm from Lincolnshire, in the North.
Just looking around this site, still not understanding it all, but couldn't not answer you. So this is my first go.

Hello, feetee and welcome. See you around on some of the threads! smile

FeeTee Thu 15-Mar-12 13:09:49

Hello everyone. I have joined recently but this is my first post. I wanted to have a proper look around before I introduced myself - and I must say I really like what I see. I'm very much looking forward to being part of this

Annobel Mon 12-Mar-12 19:07:40

The first time I got drunk was on Babycham blush. In my 20s it was G&T or beer. Nowadays, I only drink if I'm in company, and then mostly white wine, preferably pinot grigio or sauvignon blanc. Also partial to a glass of cold prosecco. Cheers! wine

Anagram Mon 12-Mar-12 18:57:18

Ooh! Must try that, I used to be a big cider-drinker in the 70s and 80s...

wotsamashedupjingl Mon 12-Mar-12 18:51:23

You can't beat a nice pinot.

I like pear cider too.

Carol Mon 12-Mar-12 18:49:07

Funny how these fashions for drinks go - I used to like Babycham and Cherry B in the 60s, then it was sherry, vodka and orange, gin and tonic, then I discovered wine - very sweet wine!! Then I developed my taste buds and good red wines. I hardly touch alcohol now - perhaps 1 or 2 glasses every couple of weeks. My children (adults) have discovered pear cider, which tastes just like Babycham!

glammanana Mon 12-Mar-12 18:00:52

When teenagers it was Cherry B and Cider,it was cheap and you always had a good time,it sent you to another planet. No wonder the 60s are all fogged up in my brain.confused

Anagram Mon 12-Mar-12 17:56:24

My guilty pleasure is Cherry B - when I can find it in the shops!
