nanachrissy Those final ten minutes spent with your Dad were ^priceless*. You are surrounded by people who have expressed their support and compassion during your sadness. Although we are many miles apart, you will continue to be in my thoughts.

NanaC Such sad news, but it's relief for both you and your Dad. Take good care of yourself over the next few days and weeks. Will be thinking of you often.

Oh Gally it's going to be wonderful to see your family again and a new baby how lovely. Luckily mine have stayed put but I always dreaded that one of them would decided to move back to their father in the US. I'd hate to only see them once a year - or in Australia, less then that. So really enjoy it, I bet they are so looking forward to seeing you again

nanachrissy I am glad his end was peaceful, but it is hard to lose a parent at any age. You are a brave, loving woman, and my thoughts are with you. xx

Mainly feeling numb this morning as my lovely dad died last night. The care home called me, and my son and I got there just ten minutes before. It was very peaceful.

Thank you for your thoughts. Sorry to be so long replying but it has been quite busy here. We have had a charmed life for three years (well, for nearly 49) so this is the worse which balances the better. At least the pain is under control so far, may that continue to the end.

Thinking of you Nanachrissie Yes, family ties show their strength at times like these ( and I realise that I mentioned DD1 and DS, but not DD2, who is also equally supportive)

Off to bed now and hope for a quiet night. Might browse round Gransnet first.
