Do you like pasties?

I love my mums homemade pasties and we have a really nice pasty shop in town. Far too fattening to have very often but the smell mmmmmmmmm.

I`m not a lover of pasties, but I absolutely LOVE Curtis`s sausage rolls and mince pies, I buy them nearly everyb Saturday.

DH loves Greggs pasties and mince pies, he nipped out and bought them whilst the builders were working on the house. I regret to say they gave me raging indigestion and seemed to be full of indeterminate gristly bits. Their sandwiches are a lot better and I prefer them to M&S.

Plumber always leave the corners of their sandwiches they have been holding, as you know where their fingers have been

Trivial facts of the day. The original Cornish pasty was made with pilchards not beef, but when the pilchards stopped coming to the south-west (possibly as a result of over-fishing), the fishing fleets had nothing to catch. The little sticky-up corners of Cornish pasties were designed as "handles" so that the tin miners could hold their lunch without making it dirty. They then left the corners for the knockers - little creatures who lived in the tin mines.

Yes, I like Cornish pasties but always make my own.

Being in a tearing hurry on Thursday, we bought a couple of pasties for a quick lunch, from the Traditional Cornish Pasty shop in our town centre. They were authentic (there were no carrots, just potato and swede), delicious and, as long as you don't have them often, a real treat. The best I ever tasted was from a small deli in Lynton in Devon, made on the premises. I've had some really dodgy ones in Cornwall though! I wouldn't eat a Gregg's pasty if my life depended on it!

Come to Cornwall for real pasties. Must admit the smell from Greggs does make me feel hungry, but couldn't face one of their pasties as would be suspicious of what is in it.

Like Anagram I prefer flaky pastry as it's less stodgy .... don't eat much pastry anyway as always low-carbing. But then again, right now I could murder a proper, lovely & hot Melton Mowbray pie - a small one!

I like the odd pasty too, but unfortunately it doesn't like me!

Yuk greasy nasty and what is in them!! unless home made of course. I live in Melton Mowbray where the pork pie is king but its a big greasy brick!

I know that I'll get shouted down but I will admit to liking the Ginsters Cornish Pasties. Makes a nice and easy meal when they're heated up with some tasty vegetables.

I don't care, I just like sausages!
Riverwalk, I find flaky pastry lighter and more palatable than shortcrust - can't abide stodgy pastry of any kind.

Mishap, that's what it said on the documentary that made my DS2 give up sausages and burgers on the way to giving up all meat.

Before I lost my job, one of the girls in the office had a mum who had a stall in the local Wednesday market. We were able to phone in our orders for pasties, baps,baguettes and salads and I would always order a small hot steak pasty for "elevenses". They were delicious!

Our local Waitrose does a rather lovely steak and stilton pasty, only sold cold, but yumptious!

My SIL always says that sausages are full of "eyeballs, ear'oles, and arseholes" - I am inclined to agree.

I look at children in shopping centres with a sausage roll in hand whilst out with their mothers and wonder how on earth can these mums allow their off springs to eat such things.?

Once in a blue moon I have a Greggs cheese and onion pasty, but always regret it afterwards when I think of all the fat in them, but do enjoy them while eating.

I have a gluten intolerance so haven't eaten either for ages but a Gregg's sausage roll really used to hit the spot after a hard morning's shopping. Always felt slightly sick just before I got to the end though! Traditional Cornish pasties are brilliant too especially eaten hot on a really breezy seafront!

But the real question Anagram is do you prefer flaky to shortcrust?

I don't like pasties. I'm always a bit dubious about the contents - bits of gristle and unidentifiable stringy fibres! I'm quite partial to a flaky pastry sausage roll, though
