There must be a better system than this!

Keep your fluids up, Oxon70. Like the others advise, keep trying for an appointment. If there's not one available for today, ask for a telephone consultation? Good luck.

Think I will wait a bit...it's probably still engaged anyway!

Ours has changed to online prescriptions only. Can't book online anymore. Don't know why. hmm

I think you should get back onto the surgery and tell them straight that this is just not good enough, and that you really need to be seen today. Say you are feeling really unwell and tell them your age. Tell them that if you're not seen and it gets worse you will need a home visit anyway.

Good luck. Hope you get seen soon and soon feeling better. flowers

Apparently online prescription service but not appointments.
They didn't offer a time for a call to me.

The service has very mixed reviews, some good.

Does your GP surgery operate an on line booking system many do now. I do recommend using it as there are often slots open on there and you can fit it in with your needs. Also many Gps operate a telephone appointment system where they will call you at an appointed time and discuss the problem. I would not advocate asking for a home visit for this.

Thanks glammanana I just needed to have a moan. I will probably be seen later, but it 's very frustrating. I can't even wash my hair which desperately needs it, in case they phone!
I can't plan anything for today....

(I haven't heard of any doctor doing home visits for several years, actually.
Seems some still do?)

Of course you need to be seen to-day does your Doctor do home visits oxon it may be a better idea if he/she called in on their home visits to-day,we have always been very fortunate with the services of our Surgery if you have something that you think may be an emergency they will slot you in at the end of appointments. Hope you feel better soon.

And I don't mean just doctors...which is why this isn't on the health section....but my grumble this morning is my doctor's appointments system!

I finally got psyched up to do it:
I just spent twenty minutes on the phone trying to get through, having made sure I have a full day free - only to get, when I did get through, no appointment, just a promise (I hope!) for a doctor to ring me...
sometime this morning, and see if I needed to be seen....maybe later.
So I still wait around and can't go out...

I've had diarrhoea for a fortnight and I have diverticulosis and think I have an infection. (sorry if this is TMI).....AAARGH!
