will keep this as brief as possible.
DD and her then BF (now her DH) were both very silly with money whilst she was still living here. He had debts in hers and his own name angry plus she had personal debt.
She left home over 5 yrs ago when they married. I'm glad to say they have both grown up since then and have paid off most of their debts and are dealing with the others.

My question is............... last week I had a lady at the door asking for Miss S I told her she hadn't lived here for over 5yrs. She asked if I had a forwarding address and I said no blush
Am I legally obligated to tell her DD address ???

No way! Definitely not.

Did she tell you why she wanted the address? You have told the truth , that she has not lived there for over five years. No need to give any more information. If the woman's problems were 5 years or more ago, she is a bit slow trying to find your daughter.

You can write to the Credit Reference services, such as Experian and ask that your name be disassociated with the names of anybody else who has lived at your address, so that your own credit rating is not affected by theirs.

Didn't you ask who she was, ninathenana, or why she wanted Miss S? Perhaps she's won the Lottery! Or from the Readers Digest?

Seriously, I think that after 5 years it's not likely to be debt-collection, especially if you've had no previous calls. Forget about it - we still get letters (I know it's not the same as a visit) for our DD who left home 8 years ago.

My neighbour and I have had phone calls asking about another neighbour in the street. They keep asking if a man is living at the house. My reply was as you would expect ... mind your own, even if I did know why would I tell anyone.
