My house is clean and tidy. That will guarantee no-one "pops round"!! They only do that when I am still in my dressing gown (complete with tea stain) with unbrushed hair checking my e-mail!! grin

Years ago when our house was on the market, I made sure it was clean and tidy all the time, ready for viewings. The visitors who actually bought the house were the ones who turned up while I was ironing and surrounded by piles of laundry!

I have been known to hide in the kitchen until the 'popper rounderer' has stopped knocking at the door. This only works if DH isn't in as he opens the door to anyone and doesn't care about the swirling of the dog hairs greeting the 'intruder'.

Must go and get dressed soon.

People popping round is one problem I don't have! The annoying thing is that it wouldn't matter as I am obsessively tidy and there is nobody around to appreciate it!

People enter my kitchen (by the back door through the wash-house) and say "Oh!"

Let's just say, it's colourful and busy-looking. grin

I used to get uptight if people dropped in unannounced and I hadn't had time/inclination to do the housework until I moaned about it to a friend who said that when people call they call to see me not the house and if they don't like it they can always leave - I am now much more relaxed and as a result more welcoming (and nobody seems to notice the odd cobweb!!)
