Where is jing again? She's gone AWOL.
Reminds me of something out of 'Cats'
She's not there?

em hopefully the tests tomorrow will give some positive news. Take care of yourself flowers

soop Sun 22-Apr-12 12:49:29

em Thank you for keeping us updated. You've been having a tough time of late. Many GN have missed you, and along with several messages of support, I wish to add my own. flowers

em Sun 22-Apr-12 12:44:40

Thank you ladies. I have managed to 'dip in' once or twice but haven't had the time or inclination to post anything. DD1 has been in and out of hospital and returns today for tests tomorrow. The little ones are a bit confused so they've needed lots of TLC, while the big ones have been so responsible and helpful.
Add to the mix that the winter vomiting bug has attacked - hit me not once but twice! Can't see an end to it just yet but all fingers are crossed that the medics will see a way forward.
(Have done quite a bit of 'catch-up' reading and have to say I am a bit disappointed at the tone of some recent posts.)

Good to see you back em flowers

bagitha Sun 22-Apr-12 12:06:49

Hi, em. I was wondering where you'd got to as well. How's your daughter now?

grannyactivist Sun 22-Apr-12 11:40:47

em, sorry to hear that your absence was caused by family/health problems. Hope you're feeling much better now and that family difficulties have resolved/improved. flowers

crimson Sun 22-Apr-12 10:53:45

Was wondering where you were, em. Hope things aren't too bad.

yogagran Sun 22-Apr-12 10:51:01

I quite enjoy jingle's re-incarnations and she's absolutely right - we always know that it's her wink

imjingl Sun 22-Apr-12 10:07:59

I don't think I do that! Are you thinking of the Prime Minister thread? My post was valid. Perhaps not what you wanted hear but still valid.

I've got to go now. family coming. Have a nice day (I mean that smile)

Sorry about the stuffed shirts thing. grin

Greatnan Sun 22-Apr-12 10:01:08

Calling people who don't agree with everything you do 'stuffed shirts' , even when you pretend to hide it, maybe one reason why you sometimes get negative responses.
The only thing I have every objected to is the trivialisation of serious topics - if you don't feel able to add anything to a topic, why try to derail it for other people? There are plenty of opportunities for light-hearted banter, but it is sometimes just not appropriate and I expect mature people to recognise the difference.

imjingl Sun 22-Apr-12 09:59:44

sorry for lack of punctuation there

imjingl Sun 22-Apr-12 09:59:22

Once you have unsubscribed, you can't actually post anything just read the posts. That does make it easier to stay away. I'm just as addicted as anyone else!

Greatnan Sun 22-Apr-12 09:56:06

Why bother unsubscribing, other than to have people begging you to come back? Why not just stop logging on? Nobody would know.

imjingl Sun 22-Apr-12 09:55:43

And tbh I think my 'shapeshifting' is quite enjoyed on here. By those with the right attitude, of course. stuffed shirts don't enjoy much at all grin

imjingl Sun 22-Apr-12 09:52:59

em lololol!!!! grin

I have only one e-mail account. I did once ask to be banned from GN to stop me coming back. But kind Geraldine said no.

You are allowed to unsubscribe from GN whenever you feel things are getting too much for you. And you it seems you are always allowed back. You cant have exactly the same user name though.

But it would be confusing and unfair to use a completely different name that no-one recogised, without telling people first.

Ariadne Sun 22-Apr-12 03:08:16

Good morning, petallus! Can you not sleep either?

petallus Sun 22-Apr-12 00:03:35

No you're not the only one em. If I was the subject of such posts I think I'd feel somewhat embarrassed/annoyed.

em Sat 21-Apr-12 23:59:08

Because of real family/health problems I haven't been able to post for several weeks. Came back on today to find yet another of these nonsensical 'where is she and what is her current name' type of threads. Am I really the only one who finds this intrinsically childish and boring? For goodness sake - GET A GRIP!!

petallus Sat 21-Apr-12 23:57:22

If you want a new user name you just need to open another account using a different e-mail address.

glammanana Sat 21-Apr-12 23:03:00

I wish someone would offer me a chocolate bribe I'd be the first to accept.grin I'll have you a race yogagran to see who gets the chocolate first.

jeni Sat 21-Apr-12 23:01:38

But we know who they are! * jing* is always her unmistakeable self and soop let us know!

yogagran Sat 21-Apr-12 22:58:18

I'm just a bit puzzled, one of the other threads this evening pointed me to the GN Etiquette and rules where is states:
"We don’t allow members to change their usernames because we want everyone to be able to trust the relationships they build up with others on Gransnet."
So how come soop and jingle get round this? I think they are the teachers pets and offer a chocolate bribe grin

glassortwo Thu 19-Apr-12 16:10:30

jingle can change her name a 100 times and she will always be jingle but it does keep you on your toes. grin

SOOP Thu 19-Apr-12 13:52:33

...or a scratchy/itchy label...wink
