Same here, nightowl. I know some people think it's nonsense, but if it gives comfort at a time of loss, or keeps the memory of a loved one alive, what's the problem?

I do attach some significance to white feathers, even though I know others think it is irrational. I think it started after my mum died and I kept finding them everywhere, then again after my mil died. Yes I know they are always around and you could say I was just noticing them more, but I found some particularly beautiful ones that just landed at my feet outside my house and in fact I kept them for a while in my car ashtray. I was quite upset when I took the car to be cleaned and they were thrown away! I don't think of them or look out for them any longer but when I see one I still think to myself that it's my mum saying hello and I find it a comfort

I remember, several years back now, my DD was at a Robbie Williams concert. It was a lovely warm summer night and I was sitting outside the back door when she rang me on her mobile. She held her phone up so I could hear him singing Angels, and everyone joining in. And as I listened a white feather wafted gently to the ground.

Still, I like signs to be comprehensible. Anyone who can't be bothered to make themselves clear doesn't get my ear.

Who nes a sign that someone has died? People die every second.

I think they are a sign that a bird has been killed.

What do you all think of white feathers, some people think they are a sign from someone who has passed?

They turn off the street lights too. I know this because when DD3 asked why certain street lights were still on indaylight I said it was because the street light fairies had missed the train and hadn't arrived at work yet. They normally fly over but it was too stormy. She was happy with that answer, whereas DD1, who asked the same question twenty years earlier didn't know what I was blethering on about when I tried to explain what really happened.

Fairies wear wellies round here.
