The initial op went to plan, but Sam's recovery took a downward turn on Wednesday when they discovered that another small hole had appeared due to the pressure caused by patching the 1st one. They took him back to theatre that day, and things went a bit haywire from there. Last night it was touch and go whether he would make it. By this time he also had a partially collapsed lung.
However, he's made of strong stuff thank God, and this morning he had rallied. And is now hopefully on the slow journey to good health.

There's much to complain of with the NHS, but it's good to remember how amazing our system can be too!

Great news everyone, Samuel is finally back at home with his family. And in time for his brother's birthday next week
He is still being tube fed but hey !
