JessM I'm empathising with you having had the horrid cough myself. Hope you're better very soon. flowers

Greatnan Sat 12-May-12 12:01:04

Best wishes, Jess, I hope you soon feel better.

I have just had a really good haircut for €14! I had washed my hair myself because of my scalded chest so she wet it with a spray. I didn't need blow drying (my hair is naturally curly, or hairspray. I was expecting to pay about €30 so I was really pleased and gave her a €4 tip.

Planting my tubs and hanging baskets. I shall have to hide them from my French neighbours, because we haven't got to the end of the three days of the "Saints de Glace" yet, until which no French person will plant anything in case there is a frost. I tend to rely on the weather forecast...

JessM Sat 12-May-12 12:36:39

Thanks for the good wishes. Yes there is a nasty cough virus around. Our very fit 14 year old nephew had it and ended up with pneumonia. He too did a long haul flight when he had the cough. They are not beneficial to the immune system I think.
Oh - I haven't had one of my ginger and marmalade hot drinks today. Time for one smile

Greatnan Sat 12-May-12 15:21:42

My son-in-law had a flu jab and immediately went down with flu, which he has passed on to my daughter.

JessM Sat 12-May-12 17:25:39

jeni Sat 12-May-12 17:27:36

(I hope glass hasn't read this...confusedwink) I intend to eat nothing at all tomorrow. grin
Happy holidays, Goldengran! smile

glammanana Sat 12-May-12 18:21:18

green enjoy your take-a-way we won't tell on you,I do enjoy an Indian every now and then if fact my neighbour and I went to the Indian restaurant 5 mins away last week for their £9.00 all you can eat buffet it was the best I have had in a long time

Greatnan Sat 12-May-12 18:24:53

That's about right, Jess, he had the jab at the shipping medical centre and came down with flu a few days later. My poor daughter has it, and has also broken a new temporary crown and I think it is a bank holiday over there. I would like to be looking after her!

Greatnan Sat 12-May-12 18:28:19

Well, I googled public holidays in New Zealand and none this week, so perhaps it is local. What would I do without google? I know there are other search engines, but I always find what I want on google.

Emptying gunk out of DD's school bag: various lumps of hardened clay (I've been emptying these out for weeks, it seems!), various bits of paper from a visit to the Titan Crane last week, a Mars bar unwrapped but uneaten, two organic lemon melt biscuits, unwrapped but uneaten, various other food and drink wrappers (she did eat the packed lunch I'd sent – obviously preferred to chocolate and biscuits!!!).

So if I eat the Mars bar, it might be a bit clay-ey. That I can cope with, but not clayed up lemon melts.

Gally Mon 14-May-12 08:48:04

Oh Bags that takes me back........At the end of term I used to dive into the school coat pockets and remove a terms worth of bus tickets from each pocket mangled up with heaven knows what - sweets, chewing gum, biscuits melted chocolate - those were the days grin

Gally Mon 14-May-12 08:56:54
