Up early for another willow weaving day. Hoping to make a little willow bark basket for my granddaughter to carry at the wedding. smile

Bags that is most unlike you - hope you were jesting!! hmm We have sun today but am expecting the worst......
Annobel Next time you are in the vicinity, give Green and me a bell. Aberdour Festival is good too - for the past 27 years it has grown from a 2 day home-spun event into a 10 day extravaganza - theatre/art/music/kids' events/sport/half marathon/local market - we've even had Henry from the Antiques Roadshow here a couple of times - not bad for a village of some 1800 souls [proud emoticon]

Hope they don't have to deal with that in a caravan Annobel. Rain pounding on a caravan roof is quite unpleasant, so I hope it misses them.

Am in the process of doing battle with the local council's telephone system shock Whatever happened to getting a real person to talk to?? hmm Wish me luck flag

Annobel Thu 07-Jun-12 09:06:49

Right now, I'm wondering about my DS1 and family who are caravanning in North Devon, right in the path of predicted 70mph gales - a recipe for disaster? Maybe the forecast will be wrong....

Bags grin

Bit of climate warming wouldn't go amiss, would it? wink

Oldgreymare Thu 07-Jun-12 07:52:17

Spent yesterday plotting! Desperate to escape the weather (12 deg and non-stop rain). wastedspent a useful hour or so looking at property in France. Are we too old to move?

Annobel Wed 06-Jun-12 22:35:05

Wait till you feel the vibes, Ariadne. I'm a great believer in vibes. I chose my present house because it felt right. Some of our other houses were selected by my ex acting without me. Not quite so right.

whenim64 Wed 06-Jun-12 21:50:58

You'll know the one when you see it Ariadne. Enjoy your search smile

nanaej Wed 06-Jun-12 21:34:35

Such a big purchase a home! You need to ponder or plunge! We plunged and so far so good. But take your time and enjoy your wine!

Ariadne Wed 06-Jun-12 21:26:24

Looking at houses and become totally confused as our thoughts are overturned by a bungalow! So now having a little wine or two with my DD. Best way, really. Back home tomorrow.

Annobel - yes, the Pittenweem Festival is very good! I haven't been for the last couple of years or so - but you never know, we may be able to meet up sometime or other, when you're up seeing your sister! smile

I hate those training days kitty we mAnaged perfectly well for years without them. I pushed a trolley round the wards of the local hospital for years and then a couple of years ago they introduced those days to show us how to do it safely, despite the fact we hadn't maimed killed or injured anyone, some of the volunteers had been doing it for thirty years!

kittylester Wed 06-Jun-12 17:50:35

Back to reality with a bump! Day one of a two day training course on an aspect of my volunteering I have been managing quite well for 13 years! I usually enjoy training days but this time I am quite often paired with a much younger person who has been doing the job for 6 months and knows all about everything and obviously thinks I am in my dotage. angry

I've just come back inside after brushing the front garden after our tea-party yesterday,we where dry for the first two hours but then the heavens opened and it was a rush to save all the baking from becoming a very soggy mess,we did however have a really good rendition of April Showers whilst sheltering under our brollies flag waving in abundance.

Bags Wed 06-Jun-12 06:29:24

Sorry, meant The Grump.

Bags Wed 06-Jun-12 06:29:06

Did she take the grump with her?

jeni Tue 05-Jun-12 23:32:40

Night all. Lovely evening. To bed now. Angel is going discoing she says, she's 70next month!
Mad!

Annobel Tue 05-Jun-12 20:35:00

Another time, green. I go up to Dundee several times a year to see my sister. Might be back in August - want to go to the Pittenweem festival again. There were some lovely art exhibitions last time I was there.

jeni Tue 05-Jun-12 20:20:38

Straight champers onlysad they've still got their bottle to drink!
I'm having a quick tio pepe before going down to meet my dinner companions and dine!

Don't know when I'll be in touch next
Watch this space!

Ps. I'm not going this class again and this liner is TOO BIG! To walk from one end to the other is more than I normally walk in a week!

Bags Tue 05-Jun-12 19:59:33

Or do I mean champagne in the vodka?

Bags Tue 05-Jun-12 19:59:14

Did the angel have vodka in hers too?

jeni Tue 05-Jun-12 19:34:02

Well angel and ihave finished off my champagne while grumps worked out in the gym! He had to go back to the hotel to put his Swiss army knife in his car, as they wouldn't let him take it on board! He was saying that he wasnt going on the cruise without his knife! Major strop!
We are separated by the length of the ship and two decks, so I think it will be angel and me meeting by arrangement only!

Red arrowscancelled due to weather and I have my doubts re fireworks! I am still going to enjoy thoughgrin

Ella46 Tue 05-Jun-12 19:10:10

Annobel it sounds as though you had a lovely time flowers

greenmossgiel Tue 05-Jun-12 19:07:01

Oh Annobelsad! I do so wish we could have met up while you were here! Gally is a few minutes walk from the sea - while I'm inland, about 20 minutes away on the train. Glad that you've had a fine break with your sisters. You'll have felt sad when you said 'goodbye', but get the Skype going and it'll be like having that NZ sister in your living room! smile
