He he I have a pair on curtain's that DD hung without taking them up, so I have to sit on the floor and sew them and only the side you can see it hemmed ......one on these days I will do the other side

I had curtains once that where held up by velcro I never did get around to sewing them properly,I also had a passion for bluetack if something needed a quick fix ???

I think this will be a sitting on the floor job too as it will be tricky to get the curtains off the pole without a great upheaval! SiL kindly came round to put up the pole and the fixings for the Roman blinds as he is not a football fan... also as he built the extension where curtains are he wanted to make sure it was done carefully and that his plaster work was not damaged!

Today, I will be mainly driving North, off to our Son's to decorate the new nursery for them.

Superglue is very useful too! I once stuck a curtain rail up with it in our old kitchen!

Although it's Glass's weigh-in tomorrow, DH and I have been along to the little teashop and eaten a rather large breakfast ! I was blethering away to J, who runs the teashop and who has become involved in trying to create a youth club for primary school children. I suggested to her that I wondered if it would be possible to receive more Community council funding to start up wee cookery lessons (for basic cooking) for those young parents in the village who don't have the skills. It looks like I may have committed myself....but it may just work, may it not?

green so well done to you I bet it will be very popular,DD is now doing a course tied up with the school called FAST (families and schools together) they are also going down the route of simple cookery classes and cheap and cheerful ideas for days out with children,they are also touching on the idea of teaching parents the importence of not giving children to many choices re food and so in the long run the family food bills will be reduced(obviously those who have food intolerance would be catered for)the groups are being split into 4 month sections giving all parents at the school a chance to take part and DD and 4 of her friends will come out with a qualification after the scheme finishes.I wish I lived closer to you green I would love to give you a hand in this .

What a great idea green. When I was learning to cook for myself in my new home, I went to the gas board's local showroom, where they were offering 4 weekly lessons for free. The lessons were good fun and a dozen of us attended - we were all about the same age, in 1973. We learned how to use a pressure cooker, joint a chicken, fillet a fish and make soups and stews. All about cooking on a budget.
