Up early for another willow weaving day. Hoping to make a little willow bark basket for my granddaughter to carry at the wedding. smile

Sunshine and regular physio makes a perfect combo. Quilt. smile.

Six weeks is no time at all! Be a patient patient! You normally fit ones are the worst!
The older we get, the longer it takes!
Patience is a virtue
Posess it if you can
It's seldom found in women
And NEVER in a man grin

Quiltinggran Thu 24-May-12 20:13:11

No, I think you're right Bags - six weeks isn't that long and I never expected it to be better just to show more progress than it has - but then I never did have much patience. However I think I'll pass on humping full nappy buckets around! and concentrate on doing the exercises so that it does improve and ... I can drive again! I'll certainly look up the powerballs as well as the squishy balls. In the meantime I'll enjoy having the time to sit in the sun - that's certainly a bonus.

quilting, six weeks doesn't sound too long to me for a broken wrist. If it's any encouragement, when I broke a bone at my elbow I was told that I might never be able to straighten my arm again. Humping full nappy buckets about sorted that, but it did take a few months before I was completely back to normal.

Have you heard of powerballs? Try googling them and ask your physio if one would help.

Hope you get some improvement soon flowers

Quiltinggran Thu 24-May-12 19:09:06

Thank you soop and Annobel. Yes, I keep telling myself it can only get better but it just seems to be taking longer and being more painful than expected. I haven't got a squishy ball yet, Annobel but I know a friend of mine had one when she broke her wrist. Thanks for reminding me about it, I'll check that out with the physio next week.

nanachrissy Thu 24-May-12 18:40:01

What surgery was that Annobel? My thumb joint is excruciatingly painful, but I thought surgery was tricky. I'm losing a lot of mobility in my main hand.

Annobel Thu 24-May-12 17:30:34

That sounds excruciating, Quilting. It can only get better from here on, surely. Have you got a squashy ball to squeeze? I found that invaluable when I was having physio following surgery on my thumb joint. Also popping bubble-wrap plastic was great exercise for the fingers once they began to be more agile.

soop Thu 24-May-12 17:13:29

Quilt My very best wishes to you for a full and speedy recovery. No pain...no gain! Seriously though, just do a little at a time. All will be fixed, well and mended in due course. flowers

Quiltinggran Thu 24-May-12 17:05:34

Been having physio on my badly broken wrist (6 weeks ago today) and was literally reduced to tears. The only consolation is that my fingers have more movement now and the swelling is reduced. But the movement in the wrist is minimal hence the torture physio this afternoon and the prospect of lots more to come. Ah well the sun is shining so I can sit outside and read my book do more physio on myself!

Butternut Thu 24-May-12 16:37:29

Very pleased for you both gn that all is looking fab. and the sun is shining.

Greatnan Thu 24-May-12 16:35:49

glammanana Thu 24-May-12 16:03:59

Bags Thu 24-May-12 15:49:55

Making ginger biscuits for sale at the school sports day. Perfect day for it. Last year we had five attempts rained off before finally getting a half decent afternoon. Lovely to have some summer weather smile sunshine
