nanaej - wonderful news! Welcome to your new grandson. sunshine

dorsetpennt, I feel for you. Grandchildren are toxic, especially the toddler kind. Alternatively, is there something in their household that you are allergic to - apart from the child, of course? grin

Nanaej how fantastic to be there at the beginning with a home birth, too. Congratulations. flowers

Today I have been mostly sniffing and coughing and I feel rotten. Does this happen to anyone else? Everytime I go and visit my two DGs I come away similarly affected. My 3yr old GD goes to Nursery 3 mornings a week so we now who the culprit is, she is known as the Germ Machine.

Congratulations nanaej. Lovely to be so close to your family. sunshine

Nanaej many congratulations. Lucky you being so close to the action! Having just left my recently born gs 400 miles away, I am feeling a little jealous envy. Isn't it wonderful to see your own gc's arrival. I was present at D2's first two births - quite amazing, especially as I had never seen a baby born before - being at the other end of operations, so to speak, when my own three were born!! Enjoy those special moments with your lovely family xx

anagram & * glass* Thanks for congrats! I wasn't actually there as I went home to look after her little boy at my house but I just live around the corner!
I was at the birth of my first grandchild as DD2s partner v squeamish and anxious and she knew he would make her worry! He was there at the hospital but I was her official birth partner! Was amazing! SiL had to do the business when she had second baby as I was in hospital!

Gally flowers echoing others warm wishes on your return. I am sure you'll know if/when the time is right for a move. Hope you are able to take the time you need.

Today I have become Nana to a new grandson, popped in to see my daughter at about 3 this afternoon said she thought baby 'might' be on the way. He was born, at home as planned, at 5:20. Just got back from first cuddle grin Baby's big brother asleep upstairs so it will be an earlier start tomorrow for me!

Have a good evening, Gally and enjoy finding a new way with your lovely home. flowers

Gally Sun 20-May-12 20:06:30

Aha Green good point grin. It's just so quiet, but I suppose anywhere with just me in it would be quiet; well I know I'm quite a noisy person, but you know what I mean! I have just ironed today's washing - now I know that things have changed - would never have done that before, if at all. Good idea Pompa about the mirror; I can see the sea from upstairs and also from downstairs if I stand on the radiator on tiptoes (it's an old original one - not balancing on 2"!).

greenmossgiel Sun 20-May-12 19:32:38

Aah, Gally - you're home again! And what lovely, welcoming weather! You've got a lovely, lovely house there.....take your time in thinking about it. You can't leave those lovely bookshelves now, can you..where will you put all of your books?wink

Bags Sun 20-May-12 18:14:12

Home sweet home, gally smile. Enjoy it.

Jacey Sun 20-May-12 18:11:11

Pleased you had a good time and welcome back Gally. And yes ...take your time about making big decisions ...not when you are still on an emotional roller-coaster.

pompa Sun 20-May-12 17:48:41

Hi Gally, welcome back. As Soop says, you will know when the time is right to move on, remember the grass is not always greener, take your time. Now about that view, we have to bring that into your room, could a large mirror work so that you can see it from the comfort of your favourite chair. I'm jealous of a view like that, if only we didn't have a few hundred houses in the way and a good pair of binoculars, we could see the sea.

nanachrissy Sun 20-May-12 17:41:25

Welcome home Gally you can relax now and settle down for a while. Take your time and please yourself wink wine

jeni Sun 20-May-12 17:25:11

Glad to see you back. Don't make any big decisions in the first year!

Ariadne Sun 20-May-12 17:12:53

Gally welcome back! smile Take time with the decision making. x

soop Sun 20-May-12 16:57:14

Gally A warm welcome home...it's where your heart is smile. How thoughtful of that person to cut the grass. I think that you will know for sure when the time is right for you to move. Feet up, deep breaths and relax. flowers

Gally Sun 20-May-12 16:49:34

Green wink.
First day at home after 3 weeks away. Difficult, but so good to be back in familiar surroundings with a bedroom to myself and a lovely luxurious bathroom..... It's a glorious sunny day, blue sky and not a cloud to be seen - about time too. A friend's SIL has cut my grass - hurray - and also dug over the last bed which needed attention. I have been tidying up after him, done loads of washing and had lunch with a friend. Also looked at a flat for sale in the village - top floor of the old Manse, but not for me I think - too cut off and although wonderful views across the Forth, you can't see them if you are sitting down! Maybe I will just stay in my lovely old house for the time being, don't want to make any rash decisions in the heat of the moment ....hmm
