Up early for another willow weaving day. Hoping to make a little willow bark basket for my granddaughter to carry at the wedding. smile

Went to my first yoga class today. It went really well, I did much better than I thought I would.
As I have got problems with my knee and back my GP suggested I try it. He told me that because the discs in my spine have worn thin there is nothing he can do for me so the only thing to do is to build up the muscles in the back, so fingers crossed lets hope it helps hmm

Ariadne, I can imagine how you may be feeling. Probably a bit fed up yourself, too....but have to keep looking on the bright side, which will no doubt help matters a lot. The damp weather won't be helping your husband's knee, either. Good luck with the viewings. smile

Ariadne...I know how grim a time it is for you. Like all things, this, too, will pass. (((hugs)))

Been trying to keep DH's spirits up re house sale! He's also got a lot of pain in a knee that was shattered when he was in the army; he was sorted out at Headley Court but I think he needs a reassessment. Meanwhile, he's being stoical but fed up, if you see what I mean.

Ah well, more viewings today.

The rain has now relented! Being in the south of the region we haven't suffered the way they have in Lancs and Cumbria but yesterday was just miserable. The brook at the end of the garden was a raging torrent but is already subsiding - such a grey day though. Wondering if the RBS ATM will let me have some cash!

Annobel Fri 22-Jun-12 11:10:57

The weather forecast today said 'relentless heavy rain'. Looking out the window I have to believe it. Duvet day? Good detective story to finish... urgent business on GNet... grin

I normally work on Wednesday's and the strawberry stall is about 20ft from the entrance to the tribunal.the market is on Wednesday's grin
I buy several pun nets and give them to friends.
They are organic outdoor grown delicious, scrumptious, unbeatable!

Smugsmile

Cheddar strawberries - my all time favourite! Pity they don't tend to make it up near where I live - quite rare to see them round here for the last few years. Shove a few on a lorry going north, will you jeni? grin

jeni Thu 21-Jun-12 20:42:30

I bought some cheddar strawberries in the farmers market yesterday. I've just hulled them and liquidised with waitrose luxury custard and put the mixture in fridge.
Tomorrow I will make icecream in my gelateria.

Ella46... have a great time!
I've been trying to avoid packing, which I hate. But the gooseberries did need topping and tailing, and the jelly needed making!
Going to spend the weekend with a friend and her lovely daughter who has just escaped from a dreadful marriage. It has cost her all her savings but was worth it!

Ella46 Thu 21-Jun-12 11:39:51

Today I am mainly packing waterproofs, wellies, umbrellas, small dinghy and waders grin in preparation for a weekend in North Wales!
Going with 2 of my best friends and we are having dinner at a beautiful hotel overlooking the sea, to celebrate (belatedly) my birthday.

Today I will be mostly scrapbooking. All those happy family pics are a great tonic on a grey day especially when family don't live nearby.

just had to cal off a trip to visit elderly aunt to show her new DGS as DD has mastitis sad

It's drippy outside here. Mainly I'm wishing the weather was like yesterday and I could go on with the gardening.....thinking about the tiles in the bathroom instead.
This is a project started just before I broke my wrist, and has been on hold for months - and I have just decided that some extra tiles I got then are the wrong colour.
Maybe a trip to the tile place in Abingdon is called for.

Today I've been mainly feeling quietly optimistic because my sister has just been told she can have more, less aggressive, chemotherapy. The first couple of rounds made her very sick but did have an effect, then had to be stopped because they made her so ill. She recovered and has been feeling well for quite a few weeks. sunshine smile

Treated myself to a shellac manicure after a busy afternoon with 2 x DGC!

Libradi Wed 20-Jun-12 19:59:09

Been catching up on all the washing after a lovely week-end away at my nieces wedding. I can see I've a lot of catching up on gransnet to do too!

kittylester Wed 20-Jun-12 18:06:19

Last night most people in our house were trying to 'usher' out the bat that had mistaken an open upstairs window for the entrance to its home, which is actually next door! Luckily, I was in bed and didn't hear! I hate flying things and bats especially.
