Thousands of years ago I used to work as a wages bod for the P.O. Telephones ie. before they were nationalized, and one of the engineers was call D.E.D. Body. His parents must have had an odd sense of humour!?

I worked in a large opticians one of our patients had the unfortunate name of Ruben Mycock,picture the scene when a young saturday girl went to call him for his appointment in a crowded waiting area she had never come across the name Ruben before pronounced it 'Rubin' and added Mycock after it deathly silence ensued Mr Mycock slunk forth,saturday girl in hysterics in the filing room Nellie and rest of staff trying keep a straight face...I did here that his children had changed their surname by deed poll grin

Parents can be thoughtless, my Mum went to school with a Pearl Button and a Theresa Green. She said she thought long and hard about our christian names because we had a funny surname too.

There is a dental practice near here with a husband and wife called Dr & Dr Dentith. Their daughter is also a dentist and has recently joined the practice but she is either recently, or about to be, married.
