Who spies on the spies?

Poor family and friends..his apparent TV tendencies were not known to them so coping with an unexplained death and learning your family member /friend had another aspect to their life that you knew nothing about must be doubly difficult to deal with. Lots of men with 'normal' sex lives are also TV so not necessarily a major issue..except he seemed to keep it v private so exposing him to blackmail etc if a colleague /friend discovered his need and threatened to make it public.
I would not put anything past the SIS /MI agencies. They will have the answer I am sure of it.

I guess that if some desire for sexual pleasure were involved and it must have required a second person (because of the impossibility of locking the sports bag from inside) then that individual is very unlikely to come forward voluntarily.

If it were MI6, then they might have been trying to cover this up by setting a red herring (sexual) - but one hopes they would have made a better job of it rather than making the method impossible alone. Or have they just scattered chaos and confusion deliberately?

My guess is we will never know!

I was, however, intrigued that he might have £20k's worth of women's clothes in his flat to give as presents! - that is weird!

Annobel ,yes he seems to have "kinky tendencies*, but somebody else must have been involved and yet nobody has been found, nor have they come forward.

I suppose it depends on the likelihood of the hit and run being successful, but a burglary gone wrong would have been more likely to work especially as they found that the door could be unlocked via the letterbox. Perhaps killing him inside his flat would be less likely to create a commotion and his neighbours would hear nothing.

I like a good conspiracy as much as the next person but if this unfortunate young man was to be killed for political/spy/skullduggery reasons, surely they could have just run him over or killed him in a pretend burglary gone wrong.

Doesn't make sense for the security services to choose such a bizarre method that will ensure that it's discussed and investigated for years to come.

There's lots of muddying of waters and the coroner has discounted his sexual interests, saying that this line of enquiry was a red herring.

I'm with Annobel on the conspiracy bit - it's likely that his private life led to his death.

Maybe, when, but I am always suspicious of conspiracy theories. There was some evidence that the victim had some 'kinky' tendencies which may, in the end, have been his undoing. I doubt if we shall ever know the truth.

I have been fascinated by it. I found it interesting that very rarely was it featured on the main pages, as though it was being hidden from sight.It was inconceivable that he could have done it on his own! I think there is a lot more to come.
