Poor old Duke of Ed.

My 93 yr. old mother has had a few urinary tract infections and the symptoms can be quite alarming as it usually begins with confusion and strange behaviour not unlike dementia. Antibiotics usually sort it out and, of course, drinking plenty of fluids. I bet this isn't the first time Prince Phillip has suffered a bladder infection.

I thought they did go downstairs at one point? Probably went for a pee and a cuppa.

I agree they do a good job and mean no disrespect but presumably they are much better looked after by the docs than the rest of us. I think they were probably given a good check over afterwards yesterday and thay is how they found the infection. Most of us would have discovered it days later when the infection had taken hold. He certainly didn't look unwell on the barge.

I agree with stansgran, very refreshing to hear someone say what lots of people think, but perhaps just sometimes he should think first if it's a personal insult!

I was completely choked with emotion watching the Queen walking alone down the aisle of St. Paul's at the beginning of the thanksgiving service. For her, today must surely be what it's all about and for the first time she has not had Prince Phillip by her side.

I like him -he often says what people think-not necessarily me but I wish we had more blunt people about we are all too tactful-he once said of a very state of the art(and extremely ugly)museum built in the 60s-why have you put the engine room there blocking the view?-I always think he is the little boy in front of the Emperor

The two of them where marvelous to have stayed on their feet for all that time I just only have to see water and I need to dash off to the loo.

I reckon DofE should have been allowed to pee at some point during the pageant..it is a long time for an old man to not pee!
I thought there was a windscreen in front of the red thrones to protect them from the drafts!

As well as the cold weather the Royals had nothing to drink for what must have been a very long time, which wouldn't have helped Prince Philip.

I thought Prince Charles's speech was very sweet. The poor Queen will be exhausted after tomorrow. Prince Phillip's in the right place. Loving the Royal Family is one thing. Killing them off with devotion is another.

Been watching the concert. I'm surprised the Queen has sat through so much of it, because she looks so exhausted and worried.

I thought that the queen was reluctant to sit on those red chairs as she possibly thought that, wearing a cream coloured coat and the seats were obviously damp, she might have got up with a red bottom from the dye running from the seats

Yes ...I do think they used those 'throne' seats as wind breaks ...it would have been nippy sitting there on a warm day!!
