army redundancies

This is a very sad happening - it's not as though there are alot of jobs available or suitable ones at that. As you say - this is only one of the problems.
Whole communities are dispersed with friends left behind and as to the housing, well what help will they get?!
I do feel extremely sorry for all those involved.

exactly Pennysue DD is currently on Mat. leave and was planning to return to work. Unfortunately they cannot afford accommodation in their current area. So she will loose her job.

Consolation for DH and me, they are planning on comming back to this area

So sorry to hear this. It is not only the job and house which goes, it is the wider social network, friends, mates, kids schooling. Possibly partners job. At one time you joined and it would have been until retirement or you left through choice (or discharged for a very good reason) What price loyalty and the The Armed Forces Covenant , which I hope they stand by.
