Addicted again!

I was addicted to Gransnet before I went to Spain for a week last month. When I came home the addiction had gone and I only came on for a look a couple of times a day. Then I started doing the odd post and now it's back to logging on every half hour when I'm in the house.

All my family know about Gransnet. For a start I'm always rushing off with the latest good joke. A friend sends me texts saying 'get off Gransnet now' (he's joking).

Is anybody else addicted and does it matter?

Anagram grin

Anagram Tue 26-Jun-12 12:24:59

Or rather, it would be the result of the scan! confused

Anagram Tue 26-Jun-12 12:19:30

I had to laugh when I looked at the Quiz Section and came across 'The Ladygram'! A vision of a rather genteel contraption for scanning women's nether regions sprang to mind...grin

Butter ...bless! smile

soop - I have to wait - a friend is bringing it over when she stays in a couple of weeks time - but I know it'll be worth the wait! smile

Green you bought 2 copies of the Lady? Wow, I'm soooo impressed. grin

I`m sort of addicted, in that I can very rarely get on here before the afternoon, because of my very own "little man". However, when my laptop does come out of hiding, Gransnet is the first port of call.
Soop, can hardly wait to see Pepper`s portrait! Discussions are now underway as to where to hang it.
Glass, I wasn`t being nosey earlier when I asked who it culd be, I was replying to Green about her buying 2 copies of The Lady.

Greatnan...the pile that I'm polishing, is almost orange with tarnish!

whenim64 Mon 25-Jun-12 15:21:47

Hmm....!! On second thoughts soop perhaps Mr Soop would like to give my housework a virtual onceover instead. It took me ages to shake off the last male resident, but he really wasn't the keeping kind - maybe Mr Soop is a rare gem! grin

Greatnan Mon 25-Jun-12 15:01:12

They always say on Bargain Hunt that you shouldn't polish silver too much!

soop Mon 25-Jun-12 14:55:20

Ha...if you borrowed Mr soop, you might wish to keep him. Then I'd have to enlist the help of naughty nellie in order to get him back. Second thoughts...that would be a very bad move. nellie would take him away and keep him under shed arrest...and as you know, she's a little tinker boots when she's not being monitored in that shed! grin

Yes, he would be handy round here, if he's nipping over to Annobel's soop. Just a quick flick round the bedrooms and some fresh bedding on before taking the dog for a stroll round the park, if that's ok? Ta! grin

Annobel Mon 25-Jun-12 13:58:25

Could I borrow Mr soop! I did wipe over the hob today and have a load of washing in the machine plus some already on the line - sunshine!

soop Mon 25-Jun-12 13:43:08

I must be addicted! Opening match in progress on Centre Court...and I can't resist popping in to see what you lot have been up to. Surely, I need a lobotomy!
Friend asked me to clean her silver [she's away on hols] and asked Mr soop to service their guest house apartment. I've been polishing for nigh on two hours...and still there's more. Kept rubbing a silver teapot expecting a gene to appear. Did he heck! grin Mr soop has spent yonks ironing a double duvet cover and sheet and p/cases. Going back to make the bed after lunch. Then he's responsible for cleaning the cooker, bathroom, polishing and vacuuming. We don't mind because we're earning an honest crust. We're doing it for pocket money for our visit to darling wee man. sunshine smile

Pepper portrait will be finished by tomorrow. Post it to number on Wednesday. She's been so patient. flowers

Hurray!!! It's Wimbledon and anything that hasn't been done will now wait for a fortnight. This is my favourite time of year. Strawberries and cream (weight watchers as a slight concession) in the fridge, and I will be glued to the TV from now on, with short trips out in the mornings to let my family know I'm still here sunshine smile

Annobel Mon 25-Jun-12 13:05:26

Hi OGM - I'm back again. Wimbledon on tele. In a fortnight's time. I may have to be surgically separated from my chair...

Oldgreymare Mon 25-Jun-12 12:46:40

Now why didn't that work? HRMPH!

Oldgreymare Mon 25-Jun-12 12:45:29

--Bored with cleaning the bathroom--waiting for the spray cleaner to work so just stopping by!
Hi Annobel

Greatnan Mon 25-Jun-12 11:55:27

Morning, jeni.
Now my parasol has been returned by the caretaker, the weather has turned overcast, but as it is not actually raining I am off on a walk but will be home for the quizzes! Granjura's OH has alerted me to The Chase and I record that whilst watching Pointless. I like to try the numbers game on Countdown - it keeps my mind from atrophying.

Annobel Mon 25-Jun-12 10:16:03

Hi OGM, I'm still here too. Tied to the chair and the laptop.

Oldgreymare Mon 25-Jun-12 10:04:12

Crikey! It's gone 10-o'clock and I'm still here!
Must be addicted! shock blush

Morning greatnan

petallus Mon 25-Jun-12 08:18:15

Greatnan in contrast to you I live in the crowded S.E. of England with a husband and surrounded by family who visit often.

However, I too log on to Gransnet first thing with a cup of tea to see new posts. I log on quite frequently during the day too. Being on Gransnet is something I think of as just for me; it reminds me I am not just what my father used to call 'a family woman'. smile

Butternut Mon 25-Jun-12 07:49:20

gn smile

Greatnan Mon 25-Jun-12 07:27:58

I wake very early - about 5 a.m. usually, and I log on to Facebook (Might be a message from NZ), currency exchange rate (My pensions are due), e-mails (often get them from eldest grandson), my bank account, ex-pat forums to choose our daily joke, and finally Gransnet, where I look at every new post and often find several to which I want to reply. I will be listening to the news on Radio 4 at the same time, which often inspires me to start a topic.
As I live alone, in an isolated spot, in a foreign country, Gransnet provides me with some welcome interaction with a wide range of interesting people. Thank you, all of you! (Even the ones who disagree with me on most things - you keep me on my toes!)) smile
