In Norfolk I taught an evening class at RAF Marham where the Dambusters squadron was based. They flew Tornados, often over my house, which put the frighteners on my cat which spent a lot of time under the furniture. I loved those students who were so highly motivated that I don't think I ever had any failures in O-level English there.

Years ago The Red Arrows were performing round these 'ere parts and I was watching them from my garden, which was amazing enough. My daughter, however, was down the horse field up the road and said they were flying so low over the field she could actually see the pilots; wish I'd been there to see it. Everyone just stops what they're doing in awe when they're around.

I work for the company that built Tornados and Typhoon. Amazing aircraft. I love watching them.

How sad for their families, very brave people. I agree crimson Lindisfarne does appear to be from another time especially if its slightly foggy.

Very sad indeed.

They are all very brave young men and women that serve the U.K. well.
We all owe them a lot.

There's something about seeing them flying over places like Lindsifarne; almost like a coming together of two worlds. Your brother should be very proud of his involvement.

Very sad indeed, crimson. My brother is a retired RAF fighter navigator and was involved in the design of the navigator's cockpit on the Tornado. He loved the aircraft.

Just read of the two tornado jets that crashed over Scotland today. When we're in Bamburgh we often see them flying overhead [Tuesdays and Thursdays, I think]. A bit like buzzards in that you see one and then look for the other. I hate war and weapons of war, but find military aircraft things of great beauty. My condolences to those that are injured and those that are missing. Very sad.
