No, it's not! It's a 16 but taken in on the bust/ waist. It still fits well. And how glad am I that it does- it's only two years old. Would make beautiful retro cocktail dress for DGD1 (16, 5ft 10") one day. In my dreams.

I mean, when I think how many "retro" things I chucked out in our many moves..wedgie sandals, maxi dresses..

Me, I have attacked the zip up wardrobes at the back of the garage (inspired by German MiL2) and been ruthless - apart from my one, real ball dress. Midnight blue silk, full skirt, full length, lowish neck, little matching bolero....I cannot chuck it yet. Can I? Please say no!

Yes, jeni Aveeno colloidal oatmeal for baths makes a lovely milky cooling, soothing water that really helps for skin rashes and chicken pox.

My great-grandson and his half-brother and cousin (all under 5) all had it when they were on holiday.....all covered in spots/calamine in a caravan! All ok now, though, thankfully!

DGS had it as a baby, very badly - he had spots on his eyeballs and the doctor gave him some kind of anti-viral medication.

There's a lot of chickenpox around at the moment. Spoke to someone the other day whose daughter had caught it twice [which I didn't realise was possible].

Dd used oatmeal baths for dgd. It seemed to work!

Just back from short holiday in Germany. Loved every minute and ate far too much..... So I'm glad it was a short holiday..... Nice to see you all again!

One of my friends said that you can get some sort of gel these days which eases the itch of chickenpox - she couldn't remember what it was called, but I guess the chemist would know.

I am awaiting the arrival of my DG (his parents are going out for lunch) and then we will drop him back to their house before going off the Men's Football Quarter Finals at St. James's Park for five o'clock.

I have done a mountain of ironing already this morning - and I have been watching the Women's Triathlon - well done to them all.

nanaej my DGS1 had chicken pox and three months and was a bit grumpy but nothing like my other two DGS 18 ths and 3 1/2 who have it now they have had a terrible time, eldest almost through it but little one still in the throws, detol baths soothed them.

Hope the baby soon recovers nanaej. My daughter had chicken pox at 3 months and was surprisingly easy to look after, compared with her fractious 3 year old brother, who was unhappy and itchy and just wanted to sit in a cool bath all the time.
