Happy to log on after a short break in London. I've missed you all. Have masses to catch up on. Will need to return later to tell you all about our trip. For all the pain of the journey down, it was a marvellous treat and we've returned with some sooper memories.

Good morning Alie you sound a whole lot more perky! That is great.
We are in the middle of a huge swirling low pressure area with the wet bit circling up the east coast, across the midlands, back down to the west country, along the channel and round again. This leaves us lot in the south midlands and home counties with clearish weather. Though BBC website contradicts itself as to how showery and when.
i woke at 1am due to husband having a very lively dream (cycling emergency maybe - felt like an earthquake) decamped to spare bed, woke at dawn and have been doing a bit of work in bed.

Just had to tell you that Virgin trains are AMAZING. We wrote a letter on the 3rd of July re our very long-winded story relating to the disruption during our trip from Glasgow to London. Today, we have been reimbursed. Three cheers to Virgin. A class act! grin

Crawling around on my hands and knees trying to peer inside a broody coop to see how many new chicks have arrived. There could be 13. Lots of cheeping and clucking from mum but she hasn't got off the nest yet so there could be more still to hatch. Local agricultural show has been cancelled this afternoon which is a huge shame. When is this awful rain going to end? I feel so sorry for those who are suffering in the floods. We've been very lucky so far because the Fens are drained....The pumps are working overtime!

Hi Jess and others up early today.
I feel better because a) I'm getting some sleep and b) I have got past the bowel appointment I had yesterday.

They have apparently lost the biopsies they took in my sigmoidoscopy (!) and I have not yet agreed to another, which they want to do to see how far my colitis extends....I just can't face it yet. And I'm annoyed that she took the missing biopsies as an excuse to pressure me further...saying at the same time that she wasn't there to force me....

Now I don't have another appointment until the 17th. And the 20th. (The day before my birthday!)

AlieOxon Sat 07-Jul-12 11:35:05

I didn't realise I was so annoyed until I started writing!

soop Sat 07-Jul-12 11:41:58

AlieOxon...so very sorry to hear your news. flowers

AlieOxon Sat 07-Jul-12 11:45:23

Thanks soop.

(Joy, at the moment, is not having an appointment next week!)

AlieOxon Sat 07-Jul-12 11:47:05

But how lovely to have new chicks, merlot.

soop Sat 07-Jul-12 12:07:29

AlieOxon For many months, I've been going through the tests that you've been presented with. My next date with the specialist will be carried out under a full anaesthetic. After results are known, then it will mean invasive surgery. I've asked not to have to deal with that until after our family reunion in Sept. Be strong smile

AlieOxon Sat 07-Jul-12 12:18:15

Oh dear, soop - you must have been talking about this, and I've missed it, sorry. sad flowers and sympathy.

soop Sat 07-Jul-12 13:08:19

AlieOxon No need to apologise. I'm taking the process a hospital visit at a time. My hope is that I shall, in the fullness of time, enjoy a new lease of life. If so, it will have been well worth all the discomfort. smile

j04 Sat 07-Jul-12 14:01:53

I hope the weather bucks up for them.

jeni Sat 07-Jul-12 14:02:25

She's ridiculously young to me! Shouldn't be allowed. She's lovely!

Maniac Sat 07-Jul-12 14:06:34

jeni .glad you had a good meeting with glassortwo.
Meeting at motorway services when GN's are travelling is quite a good idea.
I could easily get to Gordano on M5.

whenim64 Sat 07-Jul-12 18:08:44

That's such a good idea jeni. Looking forward to seeing your photo with glass smile

jeni Sat 07-Jul-12 18:14:21

If I knew how to download it from my iPhone to GN I would! But I feel I'm going to have to download to the mac then to GN.
Glasses is on her camera and she knows how to do it!

Today I've been ........ struggling with a migraine: pain, nausea, giddiness, diarrhoea. And in an hour I have to conduct a concert - wish me luck! I am doped up with painkillers and motilium. On with the show! How I hate this damned problem. Add in OH who is fading away before my eyes at 7.5 stone - I am going to contact the PD nurse on Monday as I think one of his new drugs is taking away his appetite and causing extreme anxiety. He is barely functional.

Next week must get better surely!! Have to keep smiling.

jeni Sat 07-Jul-12 18:21:17

Oh mishap, I feel for you! flowers prayers and good vibes to oh.i gather some drugs can do that. Im not surprised you have a migraine.
Good luck with your concert!

whenim64 Sat 07-Jul-12 18:23:43

jeni i managed to do this for the first time the other day. I emailed my photo to myself from my iPhone, then saved the photo to my computer pictures, after which I put it on my profile. smile

Mishap Sat 07-Jul-12 18:25:14

Bless you jeni - I am sure things will improve. It's the only way to think or you sink!

My DDs are convinced that the stress of OH is causing these repeated migraines - I am sure they are right - but there is no answer to that really - there are good days I am glad to say.

DDs are so much support - what would I do without them!?

jeni Sat 07-Jul-12 18:28:15

My migraines used to be caused by stress.
Now, no stress, no migraines! However beta blockers can really help. Have you discussed with quack?
