Coming up phoenix Pleased to have your company. You sound as if you've had a tough day. There's always a warm welcome and a jolly atmosphere here in the snug. The men folk can be a tad trying...but they are good hearted with it. Lil knows how to handle them. Enjoy a relaxing evening. I'm off now as I've a few jobs waiting to be done. Hello ladymo it's nice to meet you. The snug is strictly for we gels. As you'll appreciate, we tend to be more refined than the gang of chaps propping up the bar. Mind you, when they disappear into the games room, we're all wondering what it is that keeps them guffawing with laughter. Best not venture through those doors. No telling when we'd see you again.

Pete popped his head round the door and said that, as there's now room in the honesty box...it had to emptied because it was over full, he's treating us to a round [on him]...which means Lil still hasn't a single coin in the till.

Cheers, Ella lovely of you to join us. It's good to sit in this quiet corner of the snug. You deserve a brandy with your coffee. I took the liberty of lighting the fire. A fire makes a big difference to the ambiance. I'm not sure, but I think that amongst the firelighters and kindling, I spied that tatty old fake beard that gramps used try to wear as a sporran. Remember how it used to hang so close to the ground that it would trip him up? Too late now...it's gone up in a big puff of smoke.

Yep! It certainly is good to share a quiet drink in the snug with you for company. That rascal Pete is a real sweetie. Have you noticed how thoughtful he is when in the company of a laydee? His manners are tip top. It's all please and thankyou and can I interest you in a little something or other. Can't deny that he has a way with the gels.
