Am I the last person to discover that Mick Jagger and David Bowie had a long term relationship? Haven't been so surprised since I discovered Danny Kaye had an affair with Lawrence Olivier.

I didn't know either Humbert but at the time I probably wasn't interested!
Too busy having a life grin

I wasn't particularly surprised, nor interested! It was a long time ago....

I just loved that video they did of their song, 'Dancing in the Streets'. I never tire of Mick Jagger - he'll never get old! Don't hear much of David Bowie these days.

As I once pointed out to my ex-husband - I have loved Mick Jagger much longer than I have known you! 'Dancing in the Street' was one of my favourites, too green. And his duet with Tina Turner at the Live Aid concert was memorable. He's still got it grin

Danny Kaye and Lawrence Olivier surprises me. They seem so different in their personalities.

I was infatuated with Mick Jagger for years in my teens and twenties.

I have just ordered the new book, which is released on Tuesday: 'Mick: The Wild Life and Mad Genius of Jagger' grin

Humbertbear - well I'll go to the foot of my stairs - as the saying goes. I knew nothing about those 'affairs' shock

greenmossgiel Fri 20-Jul-12 20:36:31

Mick Jagger is so....how can I explain him....'loose'! His actions and his 'laid-back-ness' just fascinate me! grin

Well, whenim what can I say?
Mick Jagger.!
After the phenomenal succes of : I can't get no satisfaction, the Stones were awarded the Platinum whatever in Holland.
THE national morning daily paper - De Telegraaf - ran a competition for the fans.
Tell us why you should be the one presenting the Stones with their Platinum Disc.
Well, unbeknown to me, our neighbours sent in a poem under my name.
And guess what? I won!!
I was flown to London, presented the award to them at the offices of the Record Company ( Decca? ) and still have the photo's proudly displayed in the loo.
This must be 45 years ago at least?
Like the twit that I am I never got them signed.!

I was aware that they batted for both teams (excuse grammar) but unaware that they had a long term relationship. Now Danny Kaye and Laurence Olivier that did surprise me.

Grannylin Red Rooster is also a fab dance piece performed by Rambert Dance Company to the Stone music,. It is fantastic.
