Congratulations on your success on saturday evening Mishap, what a lovely achievement for you, not surprising you are now feeling exhausted. Have a good rest this week. Dartington is a lovely place but there will surely be another occasion when you are feeling better and well enough to enjoy your visit. Hugs to both you and Mr M, hope you both feel better soon. Take care of yourselves flowers

Look after yourself mishap, it sounds as if Saturday was a high point and took a lot out of you. You said your DH's parkinsons had worsened so it would not have been an easy time to go away anyway. Glad the girls are looking after you and hope you are soon back on form and revelling in your success! flowersflowers

What a shame Mishap after you were looking forward to your visit, but I do think you've done the best thing.
No point staggering through an experience and making yourself worse.
Enjoy the rest and relaxation, and let your family cherish you and your husband sunshine

Hello everyone

Just an update - Dartington didn't happen for me unfortunately - I am completely emotionally and physically drained and OH has not been too good - I did go down, but felt so dreadful (and really quite weepy) that I made the decision to return. It was the only practical thing to do. A shame - but I have to hang on to all the good things of the last few months and the success of the concert. It was just too much and the last straw in terms of energy expenditure and pushed me over the brink.

No-one expects anything of me this week, so I am going to rest rest rest! My lovely girls have been so hugely supportive and I am very lucky. I am going for a massage later this week with one DD and I will simply let a bit of relaxation creep into my life for a bit now that some responsibilities have ended.

I have appreciated all your support and encouragement.

Thank you all so much for all your wonderful good wishes. Though I says it as shouldn't, it was a triumph! It was a truly joyous occasion - everyone really enjoying themselves - and all dressed in rainbow colours so it all looked lovely as well. The children excelled themselves as well - singing their hearts out. Our wonderful S African baritone had everyone swaying and jigging about with a medley of 7 African songs with the choir - such fun! And lots of other wonderful songs, finishing with the World in Union which was uplifting and inspirational - I am truly privileged to have the opportunity to conduct this - what a lucky girl I am! - but VERY tired!

Only disappointment was that OH's Parkinsons took a turn for the worse and he was not able to perform - in fact he finished up sleeping in the car while we were all enjoying ourselves - big pity as he had made it through the long rehearsal, but it was just too much in the end.

Up and about and ready to set off for Dartington - although I may spend the whole week asleep at this rate!

Will pursue your message eGJ when I return - thanks for the idea.
