Oh I'm sure he's a serious and ruthless policitian...he wouldn't have got where he is without being a total and utter bathplug but he makes me laugh.

I know what you all mean. I'm died-in-the-wool labour but I can appreciate a larrikin, in spite of his politics.

I suspect that the jovial facade conceals a serious and ruthless politician. I wouldn't trust him any more than I'd trust any of our current government.

vampire; as a lifelong Labour voter I have to say the same. I think it's his appearances on Have I Got News for You that made me love him . there's something anachronistic about him; should be in Three Men in a Boat and suchlike.

I love him!! I think he's great because he doesn't take himself seriously. The trouble with too many politicians is that they think they are the bees' knees!! And take themselves too seriously. And a previously said, he's a very clever man - again a rare quality in politicians.

when he can't take himself seriously can he I was watching being interviewed just after he had been to have his hair cut and he was very proud of it,it looked as though it had been cut with a knife and fork. and he is a very clever man as greatnan has mentioned.

He's fine as Mayor of London and I love him in interviews, but I don't think the country's ready for Boris Johnson, Prime Minister.

He's very likeable, isn't he? I don't like his politics or his behaviour in terms of his wife, but there's no doubt he works hard and doesn't take himself seriously.

A lot cleverer than he pretends and aiming to be the next PM.

I used to love him on HIGNFY
