Hi ninnynana, just went back to the old thread regarding Prime Minster, I'm a little bit confused, on this thread, yes did say get a bit fed up with people who drone on about the DM being the route to all evil, or something along those lines. I like to read a range of newspapers and sometimes the DM is one of those, as well as The Times and the Independent. One of my sons buys the Guardian and the other (occasionally) buys the Sun. Neither would be my option for different reasons. I do regard a newspaper a personal choice and as such don't feel I have to fall out with people about what they read, but similarly don't expect them to judge me on what I read as we are not all one dimensional. However, whilst I don't share all the same views politically as say Greatnan, I have nevertheless found myself in complete agreement with her on subjects such as female subjugation of women within religion as it seems we were both schooled by Catholic nuns and probably have strong views on the Catholic church, although unlike her I'd probably describe myself as a questioning believer, but I am sympathetic towards people who aren't. I don't really have a problem with not sharing the same views as others on a forum such as this and certainly would not expect to. I don't consider anyone should call a halt to a thread for reasons such as "they feel it's disruptive" I think it should burn itself out when the subject matter has been exhausted and we don't all have to agree, who does? Going back to the Prime Minster thread, I think I was in agreement with you there about coming out of the Human Rights Act as here in the UK we seem to have signed up to it lock stock and barrel whilst quite a few other EU countries seems to use their discretion in what they will and wont adopt and for me it seems to penalise our citizens. I would not agree with you about capital punishment as this would never sit easy with me as I don't believe the state has the right to take a life and it's one of the things I find unpalatable about some states in America, where in spite of not being left here, I'm sure I'd vote Democrat there. I don't agree with not having some sort of free health service for the poorest section of society. Moving on to tattoos not a fan, one of my son's has 4, don't like them think the body looks better without drawings on it but that's me don't expect everyone else to agree.
