How judgmental are you?

We have had various threads where people have expressed their views quite forcefully about which newspaper others read blush, people who are supposed benefit-scroungers or have been to public school etc, etc, but how good are you at seeing people and situations from a non-prejudiced point of view?

My feeling is that we all (especially as we get older) have different preconceptions but, if we accept that we have them, we can then learn to ignore them or work round them.

What do you think?

A nice big stripey tiger, jeni? Me, I'm a tame tabby. Greatnan is more of a cheetah. grin

Greatnan Mon 20-Aug-12 19:55:45

I wonder why!

jeni Mon 20-Aug-12 19:54:16

People laugh when I say that I'm a pussy cat?confused

Annobel Mon 20-Aug-12 19:50:54

Greatnan, I have met some ferocious pussy cats!

Greatnan Mon 20-Aug-12 19:41:16

I expect you to report back that I am a pussy cat (after I have sweetened you up).

Annobel Mon 20-Aug-12 19:38:45

How could I be so wrong about someone? hmm

Greatnan Mon 20-Aug-12 19:37:36

You all know I am just a sweet, white-haired great grand-mother who wouldn't say 'boo' to a goose.

Marelli Mon 20-Aug-12 19:31:13

Wish I'd never asked now...grin!

jeni Mon 20-Aug-12 19:20:52

She's fitter than any of us, except perhaps Jura!

Grannylin Mon 20-Aug-12 19:19:51

Nor me, you're fitter than megrin

jeni Mon 20-Aug-12 19:13:46

Not me! I'm a coward!grin

Greatnan Mon 20-Aug-12 19:12:08

Ninnynanny - a few minutes ago you were able to quote verbatim and was very sure it was me! My comment did follow your OP where you said you would bring back the death penalty and build more prisons. I think the Daily Mail is a nauseous rag, but I am no longer very keen on any newspaper. The Guardian has sold out. I just read several on- line every day to try to get a balanced picture of the news. I don't care what other people like to read.
It will be interesting to see who has a pop at me tomorrow! grin

Anagram Mon 20-Aug-12 19:10:54

You seemed quite sure earlier, ninnynanny confused

Nonu Mon 20-Aug-12 19:05:38

The committee will have to have a think about that one !!grin

jeni Mon 20-Aug-12 19:04:58

It's probably better than if I were PM!

merlotgran Mon 20-Aug-12 19:03:04

Is it alright for me to read Poultry Keeper? grin

ninnynanny Mon 20-Aug-12 18:59:48

Marelli I was answering a question on this thread by baNANA Annobel the sniffy comment that I was particularly referring to was the one that went something along the lines of oh dear, if I find anyone reads the Daily Mail or the Sun I'm not sure that I would have anything in common with them, I am not quoting verbatim here, but something like that definitely sounds toffee nosed to me, not quite the same as snobbish. My computer's playing up can't find out who said it, but would like to ask if they would feel the same about anyone who reads the Mirror, which is kind of on a par with Sun but no doubt redeems itself by having a left wing bias. Read If I were Prime Minister! and make your own mind up.

Greatnan Mon 20-Aug-12 18:51:43

Ninnynanny chose to resuscitate a debate that ended some time ago.

Annobel Mon 20-Aug-12 18:40:43

If I were you, I'd stay lost, Marelli.grin!

Marelli Mon 20-Aug-12 18:34:09

I'm lost here...? confused

Greatnan Mon 20-Aug-12 18:20:31

Sorry, ninnynanny, but nobody has the right to declare a thread closed except admin - you may decide that you no longer wish to contribute but others may wish to add their thoughts. I think most people will conclude that my comment was just a jovial bit of banter.
I am quite surprised that you would want to be best buddies with a socialist who hates all organised religions! smile

soop Mon 20-Aug-12 18:20:29

Also agree with Nonu

jeni Mon 20-Aug-12 18:00:27

Agreed!

Nonu Mon 20-Aug-12 17:57:03

I didn"t think she was condescending , just putting a view forward as many do !!!!????

ninnynanny Mon 20-Aug-12 17:50:47

Greatnan you were not be humourous you were being condescending. Subject closed.
