Don't know if any date has been suggested .. just that I live very near Guildford so said I would give info of potential meeting places..

Also nice restaurant at the top of House of Fraser store... may be able to reserve a good table ... happy to sort whatever people want ....

When are you doing this? I could gatecrash join you. I could arrange to visit Sandhurst which is on the line from Reading to Guildford.

Can look in and see what it all looks like.... it is an uphill walk from the station.. all of Guildford is...just saying in case anyone finds walking tricky.

Also if people are OK with Guildford make a post to say so. That way potential numbers can be estimated!

nanaej Sun 26-Aug-12 21:32:36

OK..do we have a date yet?? I am a bit slow and did not join the thread earlier on! I will go on a reccie and post some links soon!

Notsogrand Sun 26-Aug-12 21:13:17

That would be great nanaej if you know the area. smile

Guildford extremely easy for me as only 3 miles away .. am happy to seek out a meeting place if you want !

yogagran Sun 26-Aug-12 20:40:34

Guildford is fine with me. There's a main line station or if you're driving in there are three different "park & ride" places. Parking at them is free and if you have a bus pass then the bus into the centre of the city is free too
This website gives details of where they are:

'South East' is such a huge area isn't it?

www.map-of-uk.co.uk/map-of-south-east-england.htm

Looking at this map, Guildford seems to be more or less in the middle of the area and yoga says it has good transport links. So still as a toe dipping exercise, who would be willing/able to get to a meet-up at Guildford? Or are there any other suggestions for a centralish spot?

Having just purchased a Senior Railcard grin, I'd be happy to make that journey.

petallus Sun 26-Aug-12 16:49:53

Well I'm South East but I live near Watford so miles away from the area you are all talking about.

NannaAnna Sun 26-Aug-12 16:12:32

I'm currently in Worthing Notsogrand
(I say 'currently' because I move so often grin, but Sussex is always home)

jeni Sun 26-Aug-12 16:11:29

ariadne where in Devon will you be? Wil you join our group?

Notsogrand Sun 26-Aug-12 16:04:25

Bump

Any more South East GNetters out there?

yogagran Sat 25-Aug-12 20:48:44

I thought you meant Hythe in Kent notso - sorry, I was confused!
I'm just south of Horsham. A few suggestions for towns: Guildford has good transport links, either rail or "park & ride": Tunbridge Wells: Brighton (expensive parking): Chichester:
All depends on where most of us are based, we'll need to wait and see what comes up.

I must admit to being in two minds about this still, I've always appreciated the anonymity of GN and wonder if that will all change. It's rather like losing your virginity, you want to do it but realise that things will never be the same afterwards hmm

Littlenellie Sat 25-Aug-12 20:09:46

Aridne that's a shame,if I was still in Essex,could have met at Bluewater...grin

Notsogrand Sat 25-Aug-12 20:03:49

It may be worth starting a new thread Nellie for an East Anglia meet-up?

Otherwise, we'll get into a right buggers muddle! grin

Ariadne Sat 25-Aug-12 20:01:14

The South East is BIG! I'm in North Kent, but it's quite a way from Norfolk!

Anyway, with any luck I'll be in Devon soon...yippee!

Littlenellie Sat 25-Aug-12 19:55:59

Shall we see who would like to join us,and take a vote on the venue..smile
