DH was playing some vinyl albums on his record player one day and GS (at the time he was 5) said 'Wow those are big CDs grandad' Ah bless him

anno I was visiting DD3 when Dr Who came back in 2005. Her 4 children were then aged 4, 6 & 9 year old twins. I spoke to them at length about the earlier series and how their Mum watched it etc etc and more or less insisted that they had to watch the first episode of the new run. They all grumbled about it and I remember one of the twins saying 'Do we have to watch this boring old-fashioned rubbish?'
Well they did, and were hooked within 5 minutes. Even hiding behind cushions like we did! They all still watch it.

My GD likes old BBC series especially Narnia which was shown in the 80s and for this birthday I have bought a boxed set of Famous Five stories, she loves adventure stories. She is a Dr Who fan too but she sometimes gets nervous and asks to see inside the wardrobes to make sure there are no monsters inside.

GS is a trainee geek, hence the scorn for the primitive technology of 30-year-old Dr Wno!

Out on a walk with 3 years old GC when I needed to go behind a bush to wee. Quote from child: "You can't wee on the grass - you haven't got a willy!"

I was putting 5yo DGS to bed and gave him a very big hug because he had been so good while his M + D were away to Poland to attend a wedding when he said in a big whisper, 'Granny S..... can I tell you a big secret?' I said yes and he told me, very seriously 'Granny, I love you more than my other Granny'.

Well what do you say to that? I just laughed nervously, and said 'I bet you say the same to your other Granny'. To which he, quite horrified, replied, Oh No! She would be upset if I told her I loved you best, so I just tell her that I love her the most!

Just had report on GD (7)'s school trip to the Sydney art gallery. I have posted previously about her shock about the nudes - there are lots.

Group were having a little talk about a marble statue of a naked greek hero.
Curator: ... so the artist has given him a handsome face and a nice body for us to look at.
Child (female) : his penis isn't very nice to look at!

My seven year old GS said to his mum, while being got out of the bath whilst on holiday in Portugal, quite out of the blue, "Your mum (that's me) is a lazy daisy. She doesn't go shopping. She gets that avocado person to bring it all to her".
