Dirty days have September, April, June and November
From January until May, the rain it raineth every day
And all the rest have 31 without a single blink of sun
Except for February which has 28 days drear
And 29 in each Leap Year
And if any should have 2 and 30
They'd be just as wet and twice as dirty.

Went to visit my ancient Uncle in his carehome this afternoon.
He asked what had brought me out on such a dismal day. I told him that I was fed up being cooped up in the house and he said 'I hope you are not expecting me to cheer you up!' So we sat in the conservatory in companionable misery, listening to the rain on the roof and watching it overflow from the guttering. I felt the better of that and he said he did too.

Oh all right then! I think the sun will shine tomorrow, but I can wear my cardi on Wednesday when I go out with my 'lurking' gransnetter pal for lunch, because it's going to rain then. grin

Marelli deprive yourself no longer, there's nothing to be gained. Yield to the temptation, give in to it, embrace it!

I've got my slippers on today...instead of bare feet around the house as usual. That means it's getting colder! baubles, I've been looking longingly at a woolly cardigan I got out of the charity shop a fortnight ago! shock

Do you know, I think I'll be glad to see the back of August, we will all be able to drop the pretence of summer and just get into cosy clothes. Roll on winter - you know where you are with winter - no pretence.

I have put on a fleece tonight. I might look for my bed socks too. hmm

Hope so Marelli - don't fancy getting the socks out just yet.smile

Tattynan, the nights are definitely drawing in! It was so miserable out there today, that I had the heating on 'low' to lift the dank chill in the house. As you say, the leaves are beginning to 'turn'.....nevermind, though - there could just be an Indian summer on the way! smile

Seem to remember back in May we had a week of sunny weather and the tv weather men saying it was going to be a long hot summer this year. Still waiting for a block of good weather sans rain. Yesterday noticed the leaves on the trees going yellow and the thermostat turned the heating on. Hello Autumn.
