Speed talking

Thank goodness - I really thought it was me! Nice thing about Gransnett, there's always someone who will commiserate with you.

DS2 has always been a gabbler (unlike his brother) but has slowed down in order to make himself more intelligible to his partially deaf son.

I found it much worse when I worked in European finance, the Spanish spoke so quickly most of us had dificulty.

And I thought it was just me!! I find the local radio presenter on the early morning show speaks much faster than the ones later in the day! He also has a Northern Ireland accent which doesn't help! or could it be that I am not only going deaf but not quite awake when he is on

My eldest son is the worst offender. He lives life on high adrenaline. When i am replying to what he has said, he tries to hurry me up by interjecting 'yeah, yeah' at a faster pace than I am speaking, and it feels like he is thinking 'time's money, money's time.' His family all say to him that he needs to differentiate between his annoying customers, who he can't wait to get off the phone, and us! So many young people speak at high speed now

I agree it's the younger generation. They don't pronounce their words properly then complain when I don't understand them.

Yes, never mind high definition TV. Need anti-mumble filter instead. My daughter says my hearing is going but that's balderdash, she mutters and mumbles! It can't be me, can it?

I'm horrified by the way TV presenters and others, simply gabble their words and don't finish their sentences, in order to get through everything they want to say!

As well as the American series actors who all mumble!
I'm sick of it!
