He's a little christmas elf decoration like the ones we had in the 60's and 70's. He comes with a book that has a story about him. He sits on your shelf and on Christmas eve lets Father Christmas know who's been naughty or nice in your house.
He has his own website if you google Elf on a shelf. On Pinterest people have photos of their elf on a shelf doing different poses or activities. It made me smile and feel abit Christmassy- cue Michael Bauble 'It's beginning to feel alot like Christmas'.

The elf on a shelf photos on pinterest site made me smile. I'd never heard of the elf on a shelf before but seems to be popular in USA and available here to.Might get one for my Grandson and start our own family tradition.
