Yesterday while in the front garden, 2 young lads walked past. One was about 11 and the other about 9. They had a dog on a lead and were carrying a football and some golf clubs, looked like they'd been to the park. Further down the road the dog went on the verge and did a poo. My first thought was that they'd just walk on, whilst an older person would probably clear it up. But the older lad took a plastic bag out of his pocket and spent quite a while cleaning up the mess. Now there was no-one around and it would have been so easy to leave it. It cheered me up to think that they were doing it because it was the right thing to do and not because they had to. Just a little thing, but it did make me smile.smile

Morning all, have just uploaded new images 3 - 6 of wee man. On opening emails, these plastered a huge grin on my face. T's mummy is a textile/ceramics designer. My yen was to go to art school to learn dress design [father said no.] I'm beginning to wonder whether wee man will realise my dream. Sad that I shall never know. hmm
Greatnan Anno Jura Lovely to hear of your happy day spent together. smile

your right marelli, tasty and delicious low calorie home made soup, but what is making me smile is the very large fresh cream strawberry scone i,m devouring for afters smile

Greatnan Thu 06-Sept-12 18:40:37

Having a lovely (but naughty) lunch with anno and juragran after visiting a marvellous castle right on Lake Geneva, surrounded by the mountains. Afterwards, I drove anno up a road with 17 hairpin bends to a very high viewpoint.
Great company - a day to remember.

Marelli Thu 06-Sept-12 18:36:11

Ah, but so much nicer and more nutritious when it's home-made, matson! smile - and it's not very expensive for a great big container of soup to be cooked in a slow cooker, anyway!

matson Thu 06-Sept-12 18:28:46

using my new slow cooker for the first time, i made leek and potato soup for tea, and very nice to! and then i thought, could have opened a tin and saved 7 hours electricity!just doing my bit for the economy.

Driving to Montreux in lovely sunshine, and meeting up with Annodomini and Greatnan. We visited the castle (remember Byron's 'Prisoner of Chillon'?) followed by a nice lunch. Lovely- thanks for a nice day friends.

Ella 46 , Bless .x

Ella you will find a way of seeing her at other times, but I know what you mean. I used to collect my grandson early from the nursery a couple of times a week, and mind him till one of the parents arrived. They are exhausting aren't they? Polly and Alice want to jump up and down the whole time, and keep clapping their hands for nursery rhyme repeats. 'Row, row your boat' starts to lose its attraction after the 50th time! grin

Enjoy Swan Lake Marelli. I like tom watch ballet, but have never actually seen a "whole" one, probably never will, nobody I know would be interested, well nobody within touching distance anyway!
Soop, love your new photos, so glad you`re back!
I had a little smile after seeing a photo of littlest grandson in his uniform before going off to his first day at "big school". Still wish he was back here with me though! I`m putting the photo onto my profile page.

Ella46 Thu 06-Sept-12 16:37:29

when I'm dreading her going to nursery in a couple of weeks when her mum has to return to work!
I won't get to see her half as much sad
She (dgd) needs so much stimulation though, it will be good for her in that respect. There's no way I could keep up with her, I'm shattered now!
