My 7yr old granddaughter who walked home from our early morning swim today with her sun dress back to front.. she was mortified when her Mum said T your dress is back to front... "quick Nan," she said,"before someone sees". My daughter and I both smiled at each other over her head while we 'readjusted the dress.

I spend a lot of time watching the birds in my garden. Yesterday a young blackbird started to flex her muscles. She was feeding when some collared doves decided they would share the food. She drew herself up to her full size and stared at them. The collared doves backed off and the blackbird looked so surprised that she had won smile

It is these small things that cheer us up. Well done those boys!

I was at a park yesterday with the DGDs and in the playground area the place was full of litter...there is a bin...I picked it all up and put it in the bin. The two women sitting by the bin looked at me as if I was mad!! It was not their litter I am sure but there kids were playing amongst it!

Well trained boys Rosiebee. I love to see children who have a dog amongst their pals. When my litte grandsons list their friends, they always include my dog and rather confuse people who don't know who the mysterious 'Nell' is. smile

Yesterday while in the front garden, 2 young lads walked past. One was about 11 and the other about 9. They had a dog on a lead and were carrying a football and some golf clubs, looked like they'd been to the park. Further down the road the dog went on the verge and did a poo. My first thought was that they'd just walk on, whilst an older person would probably clear it up. But the older lad took a plastic bag out of his pocket and spent quite a while cleaning up the mess. Now there was no-one around and it would have been so easy to leave it. It cheered me up to think that they were doing it because it was the right thing to do and not because they had to. Just a little thing, but it did make me smile.smile
