I think the OP should be sorted now - this thread is 13 YEARS OLD

Yes, these car rental situations can be a bit nerve-wracking, especially when you want everything to be perfect. By the way, have you ever thought about renting a bus for such events? It is a very interesting way to travel and celebrate Christmas with a large group at the same time.

I always look at comparison sites and this time I have used rentalcars.com. I have booked a Ka from 15th to 29th December for £196. Visiting my sister is an expensive business!

My SIL went to Manchester airport to rent a car for a fortnight and said he got the best deal there with Hertz, Greatnan. He did this on recommendation of his manager, who said he always does this, as they offer frequent and better deals than local branches.

Have you looked at other companies, Greatnan?

I have just booked my flights on Easyjet from Geneva to Manchester, to spend Christmas with my sister. No problems with the cost of the flights, but I got a nasty shock when I came to book car hire with my usual company. Over £650 for the period 15th Dec to 8th Jan. I am afraid it will have to be taxis but I have promised to visit my oldest gd in Yorkshire so I will have to hire a car for two days. My sister does not drive. Yah boo!
