Evening all, not sure if this has been done before, or that there may be a similar thread, but here we go;

1) Supermarkets who make their parking spaces just that little bit too small to get ones trolley between cars, meaning that one has to wheel the trolley around and approach from the rear.

2) Bloody silly use of "yourself" or "myself" when either "you" or "me" would be fine. (recent example in a letter, "If you have any queries, do please feel free to get in touch with myself" Aaaaaarrrrgh!

Sorry, I thought I was on the last page when I posted. Never mind the cat being senile, I think I am on the way.

harrigran Wed 26-Sept-12 11:32:19

I don't think Bags was suggesting you locked puss outside, just exclude her from the hall grin

She'll pee everywhere. Well she does that anyway, poor old dear, but usually on the horrible, but washable laminate floor in the utility room which will be replaced once we have finished decorating. Most other rooms have carpet, some of which I intend to keep.

Dear train companies & airlines,
Please can you train your staff to make proper public announcements? I can't bear it when crew members make announcements and they clearly aren't paying any attention to what they're actually saying. They pause mid-sentence, laugh with their mates, adopt the sing song voice - and then put the wrong emphasis on - etc etc.
If you need passengers to know anything, please give crew members a script and ask them to read it out in a normal voice. Should take 2 minutes. Thanks.

Bags Wed 26-Sept-12 10:18:34

Shut her in a room?

absentgrana Wed 26-Sept-12 10:18:06

She's very old Bags and it was pouring with rain and blowing a gale.

Bags Wed 26-Sept-12 10:14:28

Are you tempted to lock the cats out while you're painting yet, absent? wink

Oldgreymare Wed 26-Sept-12 10:12:55

Oooooooh Absent! I'm sure cats do it deliberately hmm

absentgrana Wed 26-Sept-12 10:10:20

Never mind your sweetcorn phoenix. I have been painting the dado in the hall a deep shade of red. Twice Fishpaste (senile cat) has paddled through the roller tray and trailed red paw prints the length of the hall, before being placed in a sink of warm water. She nearly made it a hat trick yesterday when she came out of the sitting room and clambered over my legs – I was kneeling on the floor – heading straight for to paint tray again. I just managed to scoop her up in time. However, this caused me to drop the roller which splashed red paint everywhere. hmm

.....or Jenny Eclair!

Isn't it nice that we are all so thoroughly in touch with our inner Victor Meldrew?

Beautiful, yes, but, has all the intellectual capacity of an amoeba. Last year I spent a happy hour thinking about the events that they each might choose for their Olympic entries.

Maurice was torn between Poncing About and the Intermediate Moulting, Clucky (now sadly gone) was considering the Senior Yowling and the Hurtling Between the Legs (Staircase) speciality event, and Lily was down for the "Neither Use nor Ornament" category. This is not a field or track event, more a windowsill one.

Back to the moans about little things, about 10 minutes ago I managed to cover an impressive amount of the kitchen in frozen sweetcorn.

annodomini Tue 25-Sept-12 20:21:24

However, Lilygran, you probably have less anti-social toilet habits than your namesake... grin

Lilygran Tue 25-Sept-12 20:17:16

Sounds beautiful! Definitely not me, then.

Anne58 Tue 25-Sept-12 20:10:16

Oh dear, Lilygran ! I did not mean to cast nasturtiums grin on your toilet habits ! The Lily referred to is feline, with long white fur, huge green eyes, and incredibly long whiskers!

JO4 Tue 25-Sept-12 17:57:07

I'm glad of that Lily. grin

Ana Tue 25-Sept-12 17:55:51

If you say so, Lily...hmm

Lilygran Tue 25-Sept-12 17:54:13

That was some other Lily. With fur.

Anne58 Tue 25-Sept-12 17:14:45

Heavens! What a lot of posts!

I now have a couple more to add, namely shirts/blouses with insufficient length to tuck into your jeans properly (that cold draft one feels when bending down is most disconcerting!)

Postmen or brochure deliverers who don't put the items right through the letter box, leaving it slightly open, thereby letting out some of my expensive, oil fuelled heating!

(Mind you, the other week I had a moan when it was pushed right through and landed in a pile of cat poo that Lily had so carefully deposited on the mat. Of course I didn't discover this until I was opening the door from the outside , having returned from shopping, and in the process spreading the offending substance confused blush angry

whenim64 Tue 25-Sept-12 16:18:06

I can't Lily. As I said its local speculation when we have been discussing this phenomenon.

Lilygran Tue 25-Sept-12 16:14:27

How can you tell that any of the nose-to-tail 24/7 heavy lorries on the M62 are deliberately being menacing.

Ella46 Tue 25-Sept-12 15:39:33

Lily grin
