As time is galloping on could you please add your name to the thread if you are coming to gally's on the 3rd of October. Then we can talk about the catering once we have established who is coming. smile

Granny23 Wed 03-Oct-12 22:44:22

A huge thank you to Gally for being the perfect hostess - I felt 'at home' from the moment I arrived. Lovely to see again the GNs who met in Glasgow and then meet all these new ones - all just as lively and lovely. It is not my tongue that is exhausted, Elegran, but rather my smiling muscles, I am sitting here with a big grin grin still on my face. Only one word to sum up the day - SMASHIN ('s math sin).

moomin Wed 03-Oct-12 21:18:16

Yes a fabulous day! Many, many thanks to gally for her hospitality in her truly lovely house. Thanks as well to glass for chauffering there and back (what a star!) and we only took a couple of wrong turnings (sat navs aren't all they are cracked up to be!)

Lovely to meet you all and, yes - let's do it all over again soon grin. Maybe next time absent you can put down your paint brush and join us smile

Home again and showered. gally thank you so much for having us rabble descend you. Food was delicious.

absent we missed you and all the other GN who couldnt be with us.
Cant wait for the next meeting.

Left Gally's at five fifteen; home at eight thirty. Phew! I'm so glad I decided to go by train instead of driving. Hopped off one train in Edinburgh and onto another, then off that in Glasgow and onto another, then a half-hour drive home, so never more than a minute or two's pause.

Gally, THANK YOU again for your very kind and generous hospitality flowers. Have fun with ga and grannylin tonight, and I hope they have a good journey home tomorrow.

Marelli Wed 03-Oct-12 20:48:15

Home already, Bags? It certainly was lovely! smile

Bags Wed 03-Oct-12 20:44:47

Home! Happy! smile Wasn't it lovely?

Elegran Wed 03-Oct-12 20:09:01

I rather overdid the quantities - forgot that there were so many lovely things that no-one had room for much bread.

Never mind - now I will have a stock in the freezer.

A very good time was had by all. It is so nice to put faces to all those names.

whenim64 Wed 03-Oct-12 19:40:08

Oh, how fabulous! What a great time you've had. Do tell us more, I'm enjoying hearing about it smile

Marelli Wed 03-Oct-12 19:32:13

Elegran, I'm going to have your lovely bread for my supper! (You should taste this bread, by the way - delicious!) Elegran had made a lot of lovely little loaves - all different flavours. Gally had made a great lot of delicious lasagnes and along with all of the other contributions from everyone...well, the tables were groaning! baubles made this gorgeous chocolatey, nutty traybake....and moomin had brought lovely fruit salad....glass had brought a massive apple pie and carrotcake...oh - the list is endless.....! But I must just have a wee bit of *Elegran's bread for supper...[greedy emoticon]!

Thank you Gally for your wonderful hospitality. It was just lovely to see everyone today, let's do it again. How about a Yuletide gathering?

numberplease Wed 03-Oct-12 18:08:07

Sounds like you all had a brilliant afternoon.

Marelli Wed 03-Oct-12 17:56:34

absent, we missed you - really wish you could've come! We had a wonderful time! Gally made us all so welcome - in fact grannyactivist and Grannylin are still there. They leave again tomorrow to fly back to Devon. There were 14 of us and it was lovely. We chatted, laughed and ate non-stop (not all in that order)! Can't wait till the next one! smile

So there I was peacefully rolling yet another coat of claret-coloured paint on the dado in the hall and carefully steering the senile cat away from paddling in the roller tray when I heard such a hubub. Then I realised – of course, it's the Scottish and North-eastern grannies having a chinwag and a knees up. I hope you're all having a splendid time. I'll wine to that. smile

Butternut Wed 03-Oct-12 10:42:01

Have a fabulous day you lot! sunshine

baublesbanglesandb Wed 03-Oct-12 08:48:53

Help ma boab! Did I miss the bit about a dress code? I'm wearing a kind of heather coloured sweater, will that do?

Elegran Wed 03-Oct-12 08:40:43

Will anyone else be on the 11.05 Waverley/Aberdour train?

Can't find anything purple or green, nearest is a mauvish scarf.

moomin Wed 03-Oct-12 08:29:30

Fruit salad made - hope it survives the journey wink, madly putting bits in my bag ready for glass!!

GillieB Wed 03-Oct-12 08:18:22
