What I did today.

Y'know, I don't know what he calls it now, but to me it's a pooter [it sort of reminds me of Mr Pooter because it knows everything and is always right]. Years ago I told someone there was an 'organ rectical' on in town that day, and I'm afraid I still have to hesitate if I go near the word 'recital'. Or just avoid it completely .

Has it stuck crimson? There are some words we have used from when ours were little and they are completely part of our vocab now.

What a rotten weekend for everyone; lets hope this week is better! On the subject of computers, my grandson, when he was about 3 always called it the oocompoooter. We knew that we really should tell him what it was actually called, but it was so cute we just let him carry on [and we called it the same ].

DD3 is expecting another baby in March and DD2 tells me she is trying very hard to get pregnant. That's more than a mother needed to know, surely

when my next grandchild is due a week or two later than yours; although I'm expecting s/he will put in an early appearance as daughter's waters broke at 30 weeks last time. bags has a similar happy event due then too if I remember correctly. I'm quite anxious about this pregnancy, but daughter's seeing the consultant on Wednesday which I hope will put my mind at rest.

A unique experience for me today. Surprise visit with son and DIL-to-be to see their expected baby on a 4-D scan. My grandson is due in February. Had a lovely time, ooh-ing and aah-ing over a cross between a beautiful baby and a giraffe!

Turning on the pooter this morning, I immediately spotted a news item on Yahoo about the young man I referred to when we were in MK A&E, who had accidentally "hanged"himself on Saturday night. Apparently it happened in a gay nightclub in MK which has a noose as a "prop" for photographs ( the amusement factor of which eludes me). He is recovering but what stupidity.
DH has had a good night and I will be going down to visit him today. Thanks for good wishes. Whitewave I hope you too get good news and Learner I can only imagine what you are going through at the moment, I hope having your family around you is a strength and a comfort.

I an just glad that my heavy drinking stage was over before I got access to the internet! Now I can only blame stupidity when I post something daft.

My grand-daughter sent me a copy of her first OU essay for me to comment on her spelling, grammar, etc. (Has to be some benefit in having an ex English teacher as a nan). I was truly delighted by it -she is dyslexic but had used spellcheck and her grammar was impeccable. It was also really interesting - about the effect of street furniture on the way people perceive and use public spaces. I am so proud of her - she has two childen under four and works long shifts at a local hotel to fit in with her fiance's working hours.

gracesmum, whitewave hope you both get good news today and find your DHs well on the way to recovery.

We had a lovely dinner with DD2 and DSil. So nice that one of the DCs still lives nearby.
