"Today I've been is full" So I have started What I did Today, as I have something to be a granny bore with.

Today I became a gran for real. DD had my 1st GC 8 days after due date. Several days of twinges and a bad night.
DD rang me at 12;15 today.Just seen midwife at clinic, 3cm and waiting for the taxi to hospital. 5pm I had a phone call, baby had arrived at at 3:30 pm. That is 3 to 10cm in 3hrs! Noah Alexander ***. 6lb 11ozs. Forceps as baby was tiring but amazingly quick DD and SIL surprised by the speed. DD tired and sore but says she is totally in love. I am visiting tomorrow 60 miles away. What a day smile smile smile smile

Well, I still had a headache last night.....and after only a few little, tiny wines the previous night, (she whined)! Perhaps I hadn't eaten enough... hmmgrin!

Gracesmum hoping things are looking up for your DH and flowers for you for having to deal with the emergency.

What a lot has happened in the few days we had DGS to stay. His first solo train journey! He was really good company, amusing and polite. Waved him off at Bristol Templemeads yesterday. He gave me a huge hug, I realised he was upset, but got him onto the train and into his seat. As we were waiting for the train to leave a nice young man popped his head out of the door to ask if GS was O.K. as he seemed rather upset..... that made me sad too!
Into the journey, he settled down.
Last night an amazing thankyou message from him.
Today, such an anticlimax...... and it's cold, dull and damp.
(((hugs))) to all who need them, please return them as I too am feeling low today!

Well I'm back having seen him hooked up to his antibiotics. He's still in resusc (sp??) but I'm sure they'll need the bay ere long, things were getting very lively in MK A&E as I was leaving around midnight. You do hear such awful things - e.g. a young man was brought in having accidentally hanged himself as a Halloween stunt. I heard the paramedic say his feet were off the ground for a whole 2 minutes but they had a pulse and although he wasn't breathing unaided, it sounded as if he would pull through. There were so many police there!! DH had felt dizzy and nauseous so went off to bed around 6 and was beginning to run a temperature. It climbed as the evening went on and at 38.6 we decided enough was enough so rang Royal Free and they said to get him into hosp asap. He wasn't well enough to make it downstairs and to the car with just me so had to go by ambulance and I'm glad he did as he needed oxygen on the way over, also his temp went up to 39.6. Anyway, to cut a long story short, he was looking much more comfortable when I left, temp back down to 37.something, heart rate and blood pressure down and on fluids and IV antibiotics. I have seen him considerably worse so feeling quite calm - just wide awake!!!
Thank you for your good wishes xx

Today I spent second last day in Doha. Can't believe two weeks have gone already. Wish I didn't have to work.
While sitting by pool watching grandkids splashing around, dd says well that's good news for you! It's snowing in Yorkshire!

I have sweated buckets here trying to get used to the temperature mean of 33 degrees and not done very well even with pure cotton and not very much on. Came when temp was supposed to be less but hasn't really happened. How three small kiddies, dd and sil have coped with up to 40 degrees I don't know.
However been very interesting culturally, lots to do for a none city girl and can't wait to come back, but has to be before April or not til oct/nov again as don't see me doing the summer stuff

Still up at qtr past 1 as cant sleep and the book I have is so boring i have given up...so no extra sleep for me tonight. Thanks for listening!!

crimson Sat 27-Oct-12 23:18:21

No; my son lent me the dvd...if you've read the book, number, you'll have to explain it to me confused....
