"Today I've been is full" So I have started What I did Today, as I have something to be a granny bore with.

Today I became a gran for real. DD had my 1st GC 8 days after due date. Several days of twinges and a bad night.
DD rang me at 12;15 today.Just seen midwife at clinic, 3cm and waiting for the taxi to hospital. 5pm I had a phone call, baby had arrived at at 3:30 pm. That is 3 to 10cm in 3hrs! Noah Alexander ***. 6lb 11ozs. Forceps as baby was tiring but amazingly quick DD and SIL surprised by the speed. DD tired and sore but says she is totally in love. I am visiting tomorrow 60 miles away. What a day smile smile smile smile

Happy birthday [cupcakes] to the girls, you are in for a fun day when

whenim64 Sat 27-Oct-12 12:58:43

I know glass - it's flown by. I've got a couple of photos to upload later. It's turning into such a special day, grandchildren-wise! smile

glassortwo Sat 27-Oct-12 12:53:00

when the girls cant be one already, where has that year year gone.

whenim64 Sat 27-Oct-12 12:36:04

Ella your granddaughter is adorable. Those cuddles are so precious, aren't they?

I've got my two little monkeys for the day. One is hiding behind the armchair eating crisps and tickling his brother to annoy him, and the other is teasing the dog with his crisps, by sticking one in each of his nostrils (Walkers French Fries!). Both looking at my face to see whether they can get away with something else, and laughing so much they have the hiccups.

At least they'll have tired themselves out before they go to their baby cousins' first birthday party later this afternoon grin

soop Sat 27-Oct-12 12:30:12

Thanks...I shall keep you updated. smile

glassortwo Sat 27-Oct-12 12:27:44

soop Sat 27-Oct-12 12:23:34

Mornin' all! Lovely day here ...dry, bright, chilly. Been out walking and stopped to talk to lots of village folk. Passing the word around that our home is for sale. Would you believe that as I type, a gentleman has phoned to ask about an asking price.

Kitty How lovely for you, it sounds like a real treat.

Ella loved your post. smile

Marelli aren't you a tinker boots!

Gally take good care of yourself. flowers

Gracesmum Scotland is a beautiful place. However, in inclement weather, [snow forecast in some places] it's wise to stay put.

Harri and Glass (hugs)

glassortwo Sat 27-Oct-12 12:06:53

grace yes real snow the DGC have been out for hours playing and making snow angels but its started to melt now and they have come in shivering.
Aww ella I am pleased since is getting over her bug.

Marelli Sat 27-Oct-12 11:57:47

Fortunately, the second-hand furniture shop had nothing I wanted....had a good old gossip with the man in the shop next door to it, and now here I am, cosily typing away with a coffee at my side. DH suggested a walk in the sunshine, though.....hmm. Nah.....can't be bothered! grin

Ana Sat 27-Oct-12 11:45:14

She sounds so lovely, Ella! smile

Ella46 Sat 27-Oct-12 11:37:56

I'm still in pjs too, after a baby sitting night with dgd. She is a bit better than she was but still wants constant cuddles. smile
I'm shattered, but last night she made me laugh so much trying to flirt her way into getting some peeled grape, sitting on my knee with her little face inches from mine, with her mouth open expectantly!
This morning she sat in her high chair, eating a banana, and going "Ha ha haaaa"!
Adorable baby smile and happy nana.

gracesmum Sat 27-Oct-12 11:31:08

Real snow, glass?? As in not slush, didn't mean artificial!! There, now I feel much less guilty about chickening out of a drive to Scotland!

harrigran Sat 27-Oct-12 11:29:45

Sitting in pjs when I should be getting showered and ready to go out for lunch. Bad weather caused a bit of a stir, lots of groans from DS who thought he was going to get some astronomy photos. Must do shopping, half term this week, fussy eater alert grin

glassortwo Sat 27-Oct-12 11:21:26

Much the same today grace I am not used to milling around on a weekend as usually up with the larks to get up to the house but the snow has put a stop to that today,so just having another cup of tea then will brave the snow to go to the post office before they close.

gracesmum Sat 27-Oct-12 11:14:22

I haven't done anything today - except make loads of cups of tea, read the newspaper, come on Gransnet and drink a cup of coffee. What do other people do on a Saturday morning?

glassortwo Sat 27-Oct-12 11:14:17

marelli grin

Marelli Sat 27-Oct-12 11:07:34

I'm a little under the weather...I do believe it's a tiny wee hangover that I have blush. Wine doesn't really do me any good, so why did I drink so much of it last night confused? I made a curry etc, etc and the next-door-neighbours were in to eat and have a drink......I think I just feel a bit tired perhaps......wink. However, I shall gird my loins and go and have a look at the second-hand furniture shop which might just have a bargain (that I didn't know I needed), as it's closing down soon. grin

Gally Sat 27-Oct-12 10:17:49

I'm still in bed shock I never stay in bed - do you think I'm ill? I think I feel ok. I made another load of chutney (chutney any one?) yesterday after my practice run on wednesday; plum and apple this time but it looks a bit insipid as I hadn't got any brown sugar - oh, I expect it'll be all right. Maybe all that peeling and chopping has exhausted me, or maybe it's the thought of all the filing I have to do before monday - I really don't like paper work......
